Just herd today that the IRL is getting back an American engine builder that in GM Chevy power. Now if they can only bring back some more American drivers and up and comers like they did when they first started.

Probably a bit of badge engineering. Someone like Cosworth will build the engines under contract to GM. Or GM will buy the Honda program. This has happened before.
I wish that it was more like the midget deal. At least four different builders involved. How about a V8 Esslinger?

i'm not sure but ilmor might be the one building the chevy. they have done it before.

That's why i buy Ford.........The ONLY American auto manufacturer that DIDN'T take the bailout.................Now if only they would delve into sprint car racing................OK Chevy and Mopar fans, flame away....................

I don't think you'll ever really see an Indycar race that isn't dominated by foreigners. That's just the way it is. The American drivers that are any good wind up going NASCAR. That's too bad because I'd rather see Gordon and Smoke running Indy rather than NASCAR.

There is a Ford plant in Chicago, not to say that the parts aren't made in mexico, but some of them are assembled here in IL.
