Streeter set for double duty this weekend

By Gary Thomas

May 8, 2007...As the weather heats up outside the action will also heat up for Tracy driver Matt Streeter as he’s set for a double header of racing competition this Friday and Saturday. Matt attempted to do double duty in April and was washed out the second night in Placerville, but this weekend will see no such problem as early forecasted temps are calling for near 90 degree weather both days.

On Friday night Matt will take to the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico driving the Orth Family Racing No. 24. The evening of action is part of the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial weekend and features an extra $350 thrown into the winners take for the 20 lap wingless spec sprint main event. Matt currently sits fourth in the JPM wingless spec sprint point standings and has driven the Orth Family Racing, A.R.T. Enterprise, M & S Racing Engines, Mike German & Sons, T & T Trucking Inc, Vaughn & Family No. 24 to one main event win, two top 5's, four top 10's and three heat race wins. With the big money on the line Matt will try to put the Orth Family Sprinter into victory lane for the second time this season.

Following the action in Chico, Saturday night will see Matt compete with the USAC Western States Midgets at the Kings Speedway in Hanford. The former BCRA Midget champ will be sitting aboard the Matt Streeter Racing Inc. of Tracy, Van Dyne Engineering Racing Engines powered No. 14jr for the night. This will be the first USAC Western States Midgets race at Kings Speedway since 2004 and Matt is really looking forward to attacking the 3/8 mile clay oval.

Featured sponsors for the Matt Streeter Inc. team include: Delta Demolition of Brentwood, T & T Trucking Inc. of Lodi, 4 M's construction of Tracy, F & V Podesta Farms of Linden, Eloy Coyote Racing of Morada, Troys Body & Paint of Tracy and Brian & Hiedi Investments. Product sponsors include: ART Enterprises, DMI Race Components, Kiezer Wheels, Advance Race Shocks, Hoosier Tires, Van Dyne Engineering, Sunco Race Fuels, Kirkley Race Seats and Paris Printing.

We are pleased to welcome 4 M’s Construction out of Tracy as a new sponsor to the team. We are very happy to welcome them to our racing family and look forward to a great association with them.

It’s nice to have the cold temps replaced with these sultry ones as we move our way toward Summer. It should be a fun weekend of racing up and down the State of California and we look forward to seeing everybody at the races.
