Jason Meyers Flying High

A ride of a lifetime with the Blue Angels

This morning, Jason Meyers found out what it is like to go into the wild blue yonder, climbing high into the sun. The 2010 World of Outlaws Champion stepped out of the cockpit of his race car and into the cockpit of one of the Blue Angels. It was truly the ride of a lifetime.

Today Meyers visited Naval Air Facility in El Centro before heading to the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Meyers flew in the back seat of a Blue Angels F-18, piloted by LT David Tickle. During the 45 minute flight, LT Trickle demonstrated both the precision and high performance capabilities of the Navy's premier fighter/attack aircraft. Naval Air Facility El Centro is known as "The Pearl of the Desert" is located about 100 miles east of San Diego, and is used as a training area for Navy, Marine Corps as well as foreign aviators.

"That was by far one of the most amazing things I have ever had he opportunity to be a part of," Meyers said after leaving the Military base. "Not only was the ride amazing, but the entire blue angel team is an inspiring group of service men and women that do an incredible job. It was an inspiring event that really showed us the pride and honor that exists in our men and women that protect our great country."

After his ride, the California Champion also had the opportunity to meet and signed autographs for the men and women in uniform who are responsible for these amazing aircrafts. He also had his Elite Racing team bring the #14 GLR Investments KPC with them to El Centro so the service men and women could get an up close look at a World of Outlaws Spring Car.

"I really want to thank Eric Mailes, who served with the Navy for arranging this opportunity of a life time," Meyers said. "Even though he is not on the road with the World of Outlaws with Work 'N Woody he took the time to help make this happen and I appreciate it. I also wish him all the luck in the world as he pursues his new endeavor with the Golden State King of the West Sprint Car Series."
