You can say he has won his share of races and he's been around, but you have admit he has the personality of sack of hammers in his victory lane speeches. JMHO!
"Give me a diablo sandwich, a Dr. Pepper, and make it
quick, I'm in a goddamn hurry."

Haters gonna hate.
Sammy is softening his rough exterior a little bit. But the race track is his office. He works his ass off on and off the track to get that race car where it needs to be every night. He's going to have another big year this year. Already off to an excellent start.

I think Sammy's interviews have gotten a LOT better in the last year or so. He actually gives insight about his car and the race instead simply reciting the usual "sponsor thank you list".

I believe all the Outlaw guys were there when he swept both nights of All-Stars and he finished second to Steve one night. I hardly see grounds to mock him.

Agree. Instead of mocking Sammy, we should all appreciate that we are seeing probably the two best sprint car drivers of all time still going at it while in their fifties. Although not a big Sammy fan you have to admit, it is kind of neat for the sport to see the good guy ( Kinser) vs the bad guy ( Swindell) be so competitive. Both still race with fire in their bellies and make watching the races fun when they compete against each other. I wish Sammy was following the whole WoO trail this year.

Sammy likely accomplished more in one week in Florida than clowns like JonR and kkr91 will do all year in their fields. Always gonna be dummies/haters, sorry 'bout their luck. Nice job Sammy, Take It Easy....

I think (I said 'think') I saw Dale Carnegie drive a sprint car once ...he not only sucked .... he REALLY sucked.
So I guess both are even .... Sammy can't give a 'motivational' interview ... and Dale Carnegie can't drive a sprint car.
Does it really matter to their collective vocation ???
I didn't think so either.

Were they mostly testing when he almost won the Nationals last year? didnt think so.. the only think keeping him from winning that race was that tire.. people can have their own opinions about sammy.. but fact is everywhere sammy goes he has a legitamate shot at kickin a$$ on any given night at any given track against any given drivers.. like previously stated.. haters gonna hate.. love him or hate him.. its still hard to beat him

Really?? As long as you can do well in your field, you can be a jerk all of the time?

I need one or all of the haters to help me out, I go to a race, buy a ticket in the anticipation that I will see an exciting race with good clean passing. By the time the main event rolls around there are some great drivers and cars starting, Sammy starts in the 15th position and passes everyone and makes a pass on the last lap for the lead. Or I go to a race with great anticipation and by the time the main comes around Sammy starts in the tenth position and moves up to the front and takes the lead with 15 laps to go then gets passed on the tenth lap but takes the lead back with three laps to go, on both of these nights Sammy wins. When they interview Sammy he has a deadpan voice that just does not come across as very excited, here is my question should I be like you and hate Sammy because his interview is not exciting or should I think of him as one of the greatest drivers I got to witness drive a race car?
Grady

Hey JonR how well do you know Sammy, tell the truth here? I'll bet dollars to doughnuts you have no clue who he is, as most don't. His friends and I was once fortunate to be called such know a much different man. He has gone out of his way to do things for kids, helped out others who needed it, on and off the track and the list goes on, these are things I have seen firsthand. If you were drunk one night and he didn't sign your shirt he isn't a big fan of your type or if it's just plain jealousy, who knows. To criticize what is likely a stranger to you makes no sense other than the 'j' word again which is usually the case with most haters. Grow up....
