I am interested in introducing a potential marketing partner to Sprint Car racing; he is based out of the San Diego area.
Rather than trying to 'shower" him with pictures, videos, and explanation, I would like to take him to an Outlaw show in the spring. There are two races that I have my eye on, because they are within driving distance of SD. They are, the March Las Vegas date and the March Tulare date. I would prefer Knoxville or the Williams Grove Open, etc., but unfortunately those dates aren't a logistical option.
So...my question to those of you who are "in the know", is...which track produces a better show?
I want the grandstands to be packed, I want the atmosphere to be electric, and I want the race to be action packed. Which track is the best?
I'm thinking Tulare, but the prestige of Las Vegas might add to the overall "trip".
What are your thoughts? Please advise!

ditto, Tulare.... I like the big 1/2 miles, but the Vegas track is more often than not just terrible. This is the first lap or so of the ASCS final race of the year there just last month, and it's already boring.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

if you are going for good sprint car racing, go to tulare. go in the pits and walk around and get up close. heck if you can, go to the hanford race and the tulare race. i have yet to see a good race at vegas. yes it is vegas, but as i said if you want to see some kick ass sprint racing, and your choices are vegas or tulare, go to tulare. as long as it doesn't rain out! weather in the central valley in march can be unpredictable!
to indy and beyond!!

I also suggest Tulare , even though I have not been there , I have heard there are some good races up their . Las Vegas is a great facility , poor tracks conditions , as this track needs to be resurfaced BADLY . However at VEGAS they will have a better crowd then usual , because of that weekends NASCAR race on Sunday afternoon . It is a shame all they need is a few things done Vegas and it could be a winner of a show .
It you could bring him to the bigger shows as you said like Knoxville Nationals or the Williams Grove National Open in late September or October it would make a bigge rimpression on him .

Definitely Tulare. Tulare is a great little track. The track surface is good, but when there's a rut in the corners, it makes for an interesting race. The Vegas track condition can be anywhere from bad to horrible. In 2011 the Outlaws aren't racing when NASCAR is there, so the crowd may not be all that great...

ya the choice would defintely be tulare over vegas, vegas is a good atmosphere but not even close to being as electric as tulare gets, and if u could come a day early kings speedway in hanford will be hosting the outlaws the first time in 6 years so that will definetly be a packed house show with the new promotor scott woodhouse i expect nothin less then a perfect track and a great show..

yes if u have to go to a WoO show there are very few tracks in the country if any that can out perform the racing at Tulare yes the crowds are big at Knoxville but winged 1/2 mile races suck if u want good winged racing stick with the shorter tracks but the man is in San Diego wy not take him to a usac/cra race right in his back yard so he can see real sprint cars race at there best on a bigol 1/2 mile i mean i understand he is new to sprint car racing and wont understand the difference between a sprint car and a super-modified but trust me a non-winged sprint car race on a 1/2 mile is going to impress him more than any WoO super-modified train race and if u think he will be more into the speed of winged 1/2 mile racing just take him to the drags

I almost went that direction and posted a non wing race as comparison, but you did just fine! I too often call them either a modified sprinter, or even a super mod, because that's what they are.
Non wing at Tulare..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4l2RcYBJC0
