Can someone explain to me on the Hanford dirt schedule, what is the difference between,

USAC/CRA sprint and a USAC sprint and a USAC National Sprint event?

Is USAC running a 360 non-wing sprint series in Central California?

Is this 360 engine a aluminum block or a cast iron block?

Just curious. Somehow I missed the loop on some of these dirt sprint, non-wing series running in California on dirt.

Thankyou again and sincerely,

Larry Otani

As far as non wing Series running on Dirt in Ca Larry, Ocean Speedway has a competitive non wing 360 iron block 500cfm 2 barrel @ 1850 Pounds with starter is They Run Ocean @ Watsonville Fridays, a Combination of Petaluma, Antioch or Marysville on Saturdays. Ryan Bernal placed 6th I believe at The USAC/CRA at Ocean in His 360

Hi Larry. USAC/CRA and USAC national cars are the same. They use aluminum 410 engines with with some serious cylinder heads and injectors. The national races pay more and award points to the national series. The CRA races are a regional version.

USAC Western 360s are iron block 23 degree heads (stock valve angle, aluminum ok) with restricted injector size. The engine rules mirror the ASCS. I don't have schedule but it is reasonable to think they will at least return to Santa Maria, Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway and Groppetti Automotive Group Tulare Thunderbowl.

The 360 2bbl deal is an iron head on iron block deal. I'm not 100% on the rules. but it seems pretty big up north. And as stated they have sarters and batteries.

I hope this helps.

Geez, I had fun.

Thanks Rod and Bruce,

I think I get it. I will just have to wait and see how the schedules work out. I guess the Hanford 360's, non-wings and Santa Maria 360 non-wings have merged into the USAC 360's, non-wings. That is my guess.

Thanks again and I appreciate it.

Merry Christmas and I think 2011 will be good for sprint car racing.
