Prolly just me .... but King of the West just doesn't have the same 'ring' or pizzaz to it that King of California did ... I fully realize that other states supply drivers and tracks ... but still ..to me there was a real excitement to King of California on T-shirt or stencil on a hood under a drivers nameI as I would guess 75% or more of their events were held (and will be held) in California so who ever the winner was is the 'King of California.'
But as they say ...'if you know so much ...get your wallet out and show us how it's done'... and I certainly can't ...so good luck with your new series name what ever you wish to call it....it's okay with me.

double file restarts are the way it was done before drivers and owners became pansies . you do realize the beginning of every race has them. i would say TK and Jon Allard and BK and even Larson will find them to their liking. the drivers in this series are supposed to be considered the best the are in the area, i'm sure they can figure out how to make it work. we don't need no stink'in cone. they should have gone with a Delaware restart. lol.

is it still going to be the "Golden State King of the West Series"? i know they were putting the "Golden State" back in it to try to keep the familiarity and and history and stuff, but if you are going to go for it, the "King of the West" seemed fine if they wanted to show the series had expanded. just because the indy cars went from AAA to USAC to CART to IRL to IndyCar didn't mean the history was lost. this is just another chapter in the evolution of sprint car racing in the area from NARC to GSC to King of the West. if they cut their own path and make some of their own history, it just adds to what is already there.

I agree none of the history is lost ...it is still a great series if they called it 'Girls in Garters'
Just that I personally liked 'King of California' over King of the West .... that just makes me think Elmer Fudd is saying 'king of the rest.'
I am NOT asking nor suggesting that they go back ....to any name.
Just call it what they like (it's the owners right and decision)... GSC is great racing and that dictates the success of the series ...not the name.
