"Hosehead" was the name of Allan Holland's (webmaster) dog.

It was I believe the name of a drivers dog who ran at Port Royal and Selinsgrove a few years back. The car was driven by Greg Lamey #0. Who would have ever thought this website was going to be where most sveryone gets their information and where to next weekend info? I thought it was pretty neat when Allan talked to Kenny Schrader and he asked how he came up with the name too.

I always thought that since Allan Holland, the creator of this site and this board, was a plumber at one point in his life, he assumed the non-de-plume of "Hosehead"...maybe he'll respond to this thread....

Oh, and Faaster, does your dog run around in circles ?Smile

Perusing Google, there's a few definitions - from Canadian farmers who siphoned gas from farm vehicles during the depression in the '30s (which predates this forum by a couple of years wink ) and became shortened to "hosers" as in "take off hoser - eh?"... similarly SCTV's Bob and Doug's dog was named Hosehead ('80s - also prior to this forum)... more recently a Transformers character's name and some CPAP (anti-snoring device) users refer to themselves as Hoseheads. And BTW - Hosehead is not a valid Scrabble word.

When he was a puppy and we would be playing out in the yard he would be running and turn so fast that his rear end would almost outrun the front end. We used to say he had to much stagger cause it looked like he was about to spin out. He's a Jack Russell, my best buddy, he goes fishing with me and used to go to the pits when we raced.

We always thought of the Kids in High School that ran with the Fire company as Hoseheads. When my Mother was an EMT they always called the Fire Fighters Hoseheads, guess thats where we picked it up.
