Duke Cook has posted on Indiana Open Wheel that this weeks' race at Perris will be the last under the USAC/CRA banner... anybody have more information, is or this just and unfounded rumor?
And if this is true, does this mean that the ASCS is moving in?

Unless something has transpired in the last 24 hours, it is news to The PAS. Does it mean it will not become true? Who knows. Nothing is set in concrete for next year as of yet and meetings have taken place with USAC, ASCS and at the SurfnSprint organized promoter sumit last week. Time will tell.

Nice to see that there is a concern about the track, lets just hope we can get a few more fans in the stands so we have a place to race no matter what banner it is under...If the first race of the year next March is run under the USAC-CRA banner would you ever believe another rumor posted from someone 2000 miles away that is in no way connected with the Perris Auto Speedway? (Like Scott says, time will tell...if we don't know, it is interesting that someone so far away would know before us. At this point I guess anything is possible.) Glenn Howard Memorial this Saturday, hope everyone can make it out to honor someone that spent his life working for the good of Sprint Car racing...

Well, one things for certain, if USAC isnt to return to the PAS, it would figure that the track would make the call. Just look at some of the other divisions USAC hangs onto that has paltry numbers at some events and they dont drop them. The 410 class is USAC's biggest drawing class of cars on the west coast even with the drop in their numbers.

Perhaps the right way to go would be to form PARA, Perris Auto Racing Association.
The secret weapon that Jim Naylor has is the Cory Kruseman Driving School. He keeps turning recent graduates into competitors at Ventura.
Maybe Tony Jones or Wally Pankratz could do the same for the PAS. Is Cory renting the track from Jim Naylor or is he renting it from the fair board. If it is from
Jim Naylor it has to be helping the bottom line for Naylor.
It was good to hear that Hoosier tire sent a representative to the promoters meeting in Malibu. Hoosier is tied to USAC, maybe American Racer tires might have something to help the situation.

ITS ALL ABOUT CAR COUNT AND FANS!! LOOK AT EMMETT HAHN'S CAR COUNT THIS WEEKEND. LOOK AT USAC'S MOVE TO SEND THE NATIONAL MIDGET CARS HOME FOR THE VENTURA MAK UP RACE. THIS IS A EXAMPLE OF USAC'S WEAK LINK OUT WEST AND USAC'S "I DON'T CARE" IN SPEEDWAY, INDIANA. KAZARIAN, HAHN AND NAYLOR ARE EXPERTS IN OPEN WHEEL RACING WITH PASSION AN HEART. DO WE NEED USAC OUT WEST? WATCH DON KAZARIAN, EMMETT HAHN AND JIM NAYLOR, THEY WILL FIGHT FOR OPEN WHEEL RACING ON THE WEST COAST!

Sorry, but, IMO, this week's car count and fan count was an anomoly... there was not other track in the country racing this weekend... do you think, that Stanbrough,, Kaeding, and all of the other travelers' would support an ASCS show during a normal race weekend?

It doesn't matter if they would have or would not have, what matters is, they did. That speaks volumns for the better part of Sprint Car racing. Great job by all who made the Western World what it was this week end.

Emmet Hahns car count, this weekend was the same as Don Kazarian's car count at the PAS. Hahn had 55. The Pas had 54.

Where was this 55 car count counted at? You can't be talking about the Western World?
I'd brought two friends who'd never been to a sprint car race to the Thursday night show at the Western, and they thought some of the hot lap sessions of the traditional cars, were more fun to watch than some of the winged qualifying races!
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

For the fans, its just a bunch of letters! The car owners and tracks have to figure out who they want to sanction their races. I don't care about the letters! I care about the Kazarians, the Naylors, the Jorys, the Alexanders and the Owner Drivers such as Cal Smith that pour their heart, soul and wallets into this sports that has me investing my time and pocket change so I can sit my fat butt in the stands or work on someones team when they travel out of town.
Id love the costs to drop 25% for the teams, the purse to go up 100% and the stands to be filled to capacity. A handful of letters isn't going to accomplish that!
What I really care about is when is Turkey night moving to the PAS? If not next year, KICK USAC to the curb, lol! I hope to see all of you at the "REAL" Turkey night at Ventura and the the Glen Howard finally at Perris on Saturday!
Joe

Turned on Speed Channel Sat night. Another modified race on a dirt oval. You can tell how boring it was by how fast the announcers talked (they do the same thing when the F1 races get spread out). Sure is too bad there are so many good reasons you never see a non winged sprint car event. No media exposure and you just flat don't exist.
Everything you know is wrong.

I know that Don Kazarian is a "wingless" die-hard, but I hope that he will consider running some w/wing shows in the near future.
It's time to try something different!

And Naylor can run figure eight train races like they used to run at Saugus. That would be something different.

I just checked the ASCS press release, again, for the Western World. Lonnie Wheatley states 55 Non Wing Cars.

The word at the track (USA) this weekend is that they are going to run the Copper without USAC if they have another show that weekend, and I'm told that they do in Florida.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.
