It would be great if they could move to Saturday nite which gives Ventura Raceway another day to take care of the track, parking lot, and other problems with the construction going on. More teams can make Saturday nite due to prior committments on Friday be it racing, air flights, etc. Only a thought. I know some cars cannot run Friday nite.

You have forgotten that Perris is running that night and many of the people that would be in the stands might choose to watch 410 sprint cars instead.

How about a fan living in Ventura stop by the grounds, take a couple of photos today and post them up so we can see how bad the mud is.

There has been construction work going on by the fair people which directly impacts the parking lot. You have to have been in the parking lot and pits after heavy rain to get a realistic picture of what it is like, let alone the track, which can easily become a small lake. And it drains when it feels like draining.

I have driven into the pit area on what appeared to be solid ground only to have the Jeep sink close to the hubs while I just kept on slowly motoring toward the exit gate in the hopes of ever getting out.

Everyone on the board can rest assured no one works harder to set up a race like this or is more disappointed when it must be canceled than Jim Naylor. Only obstacle here is finding enough dry ground and a way to get to it.

Why don't we quit looking for bad guys.

Everything you know is wrong.

Wallscraper is absolutely right. I've been caught in the pit area and the parking lot during rain storms, and that place was no joy to get out of. They did alot to make it better with the crushed gravel that was added, but the city/beach construction really throws a curve at their efforts.

I don't have pictures, but you can have a look for yourself by going to the Ventura Beach cam, that is mounted on top of the local hotel. Just swivel it over towards the faigrounds and zoom in.

What I don't understand is why USAC keeps cancelling national midget show.If the Perris show was still on sat,a fri show would not be a problem.

THE TEAM OWNERS RUN USAC NATIONAL, NOT HUNT OR MILLER! THEY SEND THE NATIONAL CARS HOME AND THE $10,000 TO WIN IS LOCKED IN! NAYLOR AND HIS SPONSORS HAVE WORKED HARD TO PROMOTE THIS RACE! WATCH OR WHERE THE FALL CLASSIC GO NEXT YEAR??

I'm just guessing because I really dont know, but did anyone consider the fact that Nov 26th might be the rain date for Irwindale if it rains on Thursday? Then what would Naylor do? Cancel again and loose more money. I know Jim tells me to stay off of here, but I cant hardly stand to read stuff from people that dont know the whole story. There are so many logistics to scheduling a race, let alone rescheduling. Escpecially at a Dirt track, with more rain coming, and I believe the Fairgrounds have a lot of construction going on. Do any of you really think that ANYONE wanted to cancel the race and not reschedule?

I have got to tell you guys, all the B******T bashing of USAC is getting old.

I dont care what USAC did in the past! I only want to look to the future and be Positive while I am doing it.

It doesnt matter if you are talking Negative about a Sprint Car track, a Sprint Car series, a Sprint Car sanction or a Sprint Car driver. The fact is you are talking negative about the sport the you supposedly love. Do you really think that is helping YOUR sport?

Come on everyone. Lets be positive. I will guarantee you that everyone in the Business that I have come in contact with since I got involved with Sprint Cars wants the best for the sport.
