From Evan Griffin-
Allard claims victory #1 downunder.
Jonathan Allard picked where he left off last season taking his first feature win at Springs Speedway for season 2010/11 piloting the #0u Hydraulink/Porter Hire/Albany Toyota Sprintcar. Was another stunning day in the City of Sails, Auckland with a good crowd turning up to this iconic speedway venue for some great racing.
Allard didn't waste anytime in getting use to the track again but instead decided to straight to the high line in Heat 1 from grid 3, however, with moisture still in track Allard fell back to 7th before falling into a rhythm and taking the lead with 3 laps to go to finish his first heat race of the season.
His second heat race for the evening was a bit harder as the starting order was reverse of heat 1 which meant Allard was to come from grid 7. Once again, he found the high line out by the wall where he would stay for the entire race to pass #22a Dean Brindle on the final lap to win his second race of the evening.
The A-Main feature was all Allard as he qualified to start on Grid 2 where he lead the pack into turn 1 and he would stay there for the entire 20 laps. #0 Hydraulink/Porter Hire/Albany Toyota machine started passing the back markers by lap 7 passing everyone up to 9th place.
“We were very happy with how the car went considering we only finished putting it together later in the week. Still some fine tuning on it so we will be even faster again” Allard said.
The next meeting out for Allard in the #0 Hydraulink/Porter Hire/Albany Toyota sprintcar is on November 27th at Western Springs which will be the first of the International nights up against fellow American's Craig Dollansky, Tommy Tarlton and US based Australian Pete Murphy.
