I believe at the start of the season there was some buzz on the 421ci mill being lagit to run in 2010 .. is there testimony of any teams using the larger cubes and "more specific" top end type mill this past season? just curious..

Are you speaking of the 440 that was legalized for the 2010 season? Or the LS engine which is actually a 429? I know that nobody spoke with John McCoy this season with the intention of running the 430 this past season.

Nobody made mention that they were running a 440C.I.
That doesn't mean that there wasn't one or two running at Knoxville...CZ

With this disclaimer in the rule book - *-12 Brodix heads are considered to be 15 degrees unless severely altered. 16, 18 and 23 degree heads are acceptable. Please contact us with any questions before building or purchasing these engines. - You could sure screw the pooch by just jumping in and running one without contacting John.

the question at hand was the ability for a team to run this motor (guidelined rules mind you), and be competitive ? , 90% of Knox's regulars are running a allpro headed mill , im assuming they all pump less then 410ci or + % of tollerance? ( I dont have the rules in front of me ) I would imagine on any givin night a guy "could " run a 420 ++++ mill routinely unless his seat finishes on the podium (ours is top 5) he will be subject to inspection, thus, if he routinely finishes poorly in a 3000hp 500ci mill he didnt find a major advantage did he? any truth to the dyno #'s on a average -12 (use to be decent 410 head) running comparable #'s to a All Pro headed "410ci legit" mill, thats the key question? , this 440ci addition was to aid struggeling teams to (now) be competitive with less $$ in updates
thanks for the post hawker, I guess that answers my ???
I was under the understanding -12 heads were acceptable with a 2 5/8 inj ? I couldnt get the 440 rules to pop up here quickley, I looked them over (lightly) some time ago this spring.. Anyway , Just conversation , cheers guys
