I see the new Ford 410 from Roush Yates is now on there website if anyone is curious. Their advertised torque seems a little low, but who knows how accurate their publicised numbers are.

Yep, the torque numbers have actually been 685-690. That was info supposed to be changed before it was published.

Funny that we have people who are engineers building all these new state-of-the-art engines, and they can't spell HORSEPOWER right! Ouch. . . . . I'll stick with someone who knows how to spell. . . .

C'mon, do you think engineers or engine builders post the ads on the website? I'm not real happy about the wrong specs or spelling either. It WILL be corrected.

You are wrong. Casey Luna won multiple WoO championchips with Fords. What do you consider "this deal"? If someone gave it a good effort they would win just like the last guy that gave one an honest effort.

Casey Luna may have put up the bucks for that so called Ford, but he had enough sense to bring in Kenny Woodruff, who's now in the hall of fame to make it run. Casey had, and still has a Ford dealership over there in Belen N.M., and he wanted a selling point, and got it.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

His first night out in a winged car...
Wisconsin Dells, Wisc. – Bobby East turned in a splendid drive to capture his first MustSeeRacing Biobased-USA Xtreme Sprint Series victory on Saturday night at Dells Raceway Park, while Troy DeCaire clinched the inaugural series title with a strong runner-up drive in the 50-lap feature. East, aboard the Terry Klatt Ford-powered sprinter, battled early with leader Tim Cox and used a dazzling move in traffic to take the lead just before the midway point. East then managed to hold off the field, with DeCaire chasing him to the finish. Jason Blonde surged in the late going to take third from Cox in the waning laps, but simply ran out of time to challenge the leaders. Fourth was Cox, with Ryan Litt rounding out the top five. “It’s really exciting to win my first winged race, I’ve been hoping to do this for a long time,” said an excited East in victory lane. “I have to hand it to my crew chief, Evan Evard, and my dad (Bob East), because they gave me a car that just kept getting better all night long. “I kept moving my wing back as the race went along, and the car kept getting faster. This was a new experience for me, but I’m hoping to have the opportunity to do more of this winged racing in the future.” DeCaire came into the feature race with a 23-point lead on Jeff Bloom in the championship standings, and admitted that he played it somewhat conservative. After spending much of the season with car owner Mike Blake, DeCaire and Blake parted ways in recent days with DeCaire landing in the Tony Swanson-owned sprinter for tonight’s finale. “I just wanted to keep all four wheels on the thing and park it on the straightaway after the race,” said the Tampa, Florida driver. “We’ve had a good season, and I’m glad the pressure of racing for the title is over. It probably hasn’t sunk in yet, but it’s been a good experience to relocate to the Midwest from Florida and race with these guys. I’ve learned a lot and I hope to build on the experience for next year.” Blake, who teamed with Toledo, Ohio driver Dave Baumgardner for tonight’s race, saw his car establish a new track record of 11.358-seconds in qualifying, and clinched the car owner’s title. The second five in tonight’s race consisted of Jason Cox, Travis Miniea, Jimmy McCune, Jeff Bloom, and Mike Ling. Bloom’s finish was good enough to clinch the runner-up spot in series points, while McCune settled for third in the final standings.
Feature finish...
1. Bobby East 2. Troy DeCaire 3. Jason Blonde 4. Tim Cox 5. Ryan Litt 6. Jason Cox 7. Travis Miniea 8. Jimmy McCune 9. Jeff Bloom 10 Mike Ling 11.Dave Baumgardner 12.Jerry Caryer 13.Hank Lower 14.Bill Tyler 15.Mike Larrison 16.Kevin Feeney 17.John Witter 18.Danny Schlafer 19.David Gough 20.Ron Kohler

Very little difference from now till then. The track record at Hagerstown (no track needs more ponies than Hagerstown) was broken only a year or two after Luna's stuff left and still stands today. All these these dreamers acting like they've found all kinds of earth shattering performance improvements is simply not the case.

You're kidding, right?
Hagerstown has been a poorly prepared sprint car track for the past 20 years... no other track that the Outlaws visit with any regularity has a track record more than a few years old. The facr that the track is slower nowadays is as much a statement about track preparation as it is about anything.....
Witness the track records at the Grove, Eldora, and others since 1995,, and you're trying to tell us that Hagerstown requires more HP than Eldora? When you cannot get hooked up to a dry. slick track, HP does not matter!
Dry, slick track prep is holding back technology in this case... it's got nothing to do with Ford, GM. or Mopar horsepower......
Chuck.....

1. "asphalt" doesn't count.
2. I think Cubic might have discovered a couple of parts in the Yates engine are.....hold on now....made "you know where!"
leon
BigFish is right.....Luna got a lot of mileage out of the sprinter for his dealership. I seem to recall he had "high" political aspirations and got to Lt. Gov. for N.M. but never heard more after that.

I've thought about it long and hard.......only two foriegn made parts in that engine. The connecting rods are from Pankl(Austria) and the oil pump is Auto-Verdi (Sweden). Every other bolt nut and washer from the Good Ole US of A.
Oh-yea, I knew somebody would say asphalt doesn't count . We are working on getting more miles on dirt........
