How about that overflow crowd in the background at OKC, looks like a full house , that is a great pic of a young Emmitt Hahn and Dutch and the seating chart with all the seats in the what once was called the walkway. That is good stuff John.

Anybody know the story on the Aaron Madden #1 with the sprint tail. Could it be one of the 1st to run as a supermodified in the area. Was it a stretched sprint car?

Hank Malone told me, the OkC Hank Malone (built the frame forWayne Cox's 4- bar car , #161)
He could see the cars were going to sprint car anyways, so he ordered a CAE stretched sprinter,100 inch wb. Madden heard about it, and ordered one on the spot too. When they both showed up at the beginning of the year at OkC, 1970-ish, there was a lot of bru-hah-hah over those cars. Still they were complying with the rules and were allowed to race.

John, When did your dad start Corvette/Auto Sports Center and was it always on S. May Ave.??? and was Parr Automotive your big competitor back in the day??.
Also did you all ever carry any complete chassis or was it only Motor and Chassis Parts???

He started in the body shop business (Cor Vett Center) in the early '60's at a shop on SW 44th off of Shields. He moved to SW 14th and May in the late '60's. While still customizing cars, he started selling mag wheels on the side and one thing lead to another and he turned it into Auto Sports Center. Yes, we had Nance chassis in the showroom along with all the parts to put one together. Yes, Cody was the comp BITD. As with SFS, all that's left of that place is a slab of concrete and tons of memories.

When you right click on the photo to save it, maybe try to change the name and leave out any of these kinds of things like the following % ( ) Ony use letters, numbers and dashes and leave no spaces for the name of the photo.
Hope your dad is doing ok. I remember a while back he was in the hospital.
