Golden State King of the West Sprint Car Series taking shape for 2011

Rio Vista, CA – October 29, 2010…With various changes currently going on throughout the California sprint car landscape the Golden State King of the West Sprint Car Series is making strides towards the 2011 campaign, which includes a slight name change to the previously announced title.
After being announced as the “King of the West Sprints Cars” the name has been slightly modified to add “Golden State” back in front, making it the “Golden State King of the West Sprint Car Series” to help keep some of the history alive from the past 25-years of competition.
The overall point fund for the 2011 racing season with the Golden State King of the West Sprint Cars will be a minimum of $100,000 with each night’s A-main event paying a minimum of $3,000-to-win and $500-to-start. The total A-main purse will be $18,250. The Last Chance Showdown with the series will also feature a total payout of $3,250 with $350 going to the first non-transfer and a guaranteed $200-to-start the last chance race.
The series is currently in negotiations with a number of tracks and working towards a projected 30-race schedule for the 2011 season. The series will be visiting many of the same tracks as in years past, with the possibility of a couple new ones added in as well. An official schedule will be released following the annual RPM Promoters Workshop held in Reno in early December.
In addition to attending the RPM Promoters Workshop the Golden State King of the West Sprints will also have a presence at the 23rd annual Performance Racing Industry Tradeshow in Orlando, Florida. The series will have a booth at the tradeshow and are planning to have a final copy of the schedule announced during the event, which is held on December 9, 10 and 11.
“We are really excited about some of the new venues that have called and showed interest in the Golden State King of the West Series for 2011,” said operations manager George Hague. “We currently have a rules committee that will be working on the rule book for 2011 and we are also working on a lot of various things to help bring the promotions part of the series to a new level.”
Membership forms for the 2011 racing season are also being completed and should be available soon.
