Lonnie Wheatley, PEORIA, Ariz. (October 23, 2010) – R.J. Johnson finished off Canyon Speedway Park's Hall of Fame Classic weekend by racing to his fifth wingless American Sprint Car Series Canyon Region feature win of the season.
The Phoenix shoe raced from the pole position to take his seventh career ASCS Canyon Region triumph and third series win of the year at CSP aboard the Michael Brothers Ford-powered Racing Mammoth Sound No. 77m Sherman with Josh Pelkey in the runner-up position.'
Friend don't let friends drive FORDS, unless it's a $35,000 360!

OW: with all due respect... saying that the sprint motor will win about as often as his Nascar motors... that is kinda harsh even if you do have a winky on the end of it. Some other comments on this thread... such as wins/starts... huh? What does it matter? Anyone can read on Hoseheads that Randy Martin and Chuck Hebing have won some races with their Roush/Yates Ford this year. Bobby East won a winged asphalt race with a Roush/Yates Ford.

Thank you to Jeremy & Roush/Yates for their charitable work. I think the phrase "kill them with kindness" wouldn't hurt when a company does something like this.

Being skeptical about a motor given away for charity... none of us have any business doing so.

The East win was a 410 race as well. A winged asphalt 410 race would certainly take some decent power...probably as much as skating around Lincoln or Perris.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

I doubt they have 35 grand in the 77 bullet.

The 77's engine was not built by me. It runs very well. It is not an ASCS spec head engine. Yes our engines are $35K, so are the other top name builders. If I'm correct names like Wesmar, Shark and Eckley are $35-37K. If a guy wants to build an engine in his garage with a used 010 block and a swap meet Hilborn injector, thats cool too. It takes all sorts to make the word go 'round. If I'm at the race track and a guy with a home build Chevy needs a hand, I'm there to help. We're all racers! The company that I work for "are good people" as we say in the south. Smile

BTW, I like the Ford-Chevy Rivalry. Its good for the sport, Unfortunately I have to take the high road! wink

The Canyon series run's under ASCA rules as far as I know, they just don't have garage doors on top. Why do you say "It is not an ASCS spec head engine"? Just askin.

Last year when I saw the caw the car it had Ford Racing C3 or SC1 heads. These are Clevaland derived aluminum heads with big ports. There may be car weight, restrictor gasket or small stack rules to help level the advantage. None the less, it runs well and is a Ford so I like it. Smile

No sir, OW, no mo boats. Retired a few years back. I've dj'ed at a bar in the Ft. Worth Stockyards ever since. I get paid, nice looking women, free booze... life is good.

I wouldn't ever ask you or anyone else to edit or delete posts. If a post is bad enough... the moderator will take care of it for us all. Say what you feel regardless of consequence I say. Just be prepared for some posts to ruffle feathers or stir debate. It's natural.

Roush/Yates motors haven't done squat in Cup? Really?

Biffle made the Chase & has 2 wins. Kenseth made the Chase. Carl Edwards made the Chase. 45 top 10's among the 3. 19 top 5's. Couple of poles. Throw in some more top tens and poles when you add the RPM team.

That isn't their best year... but nowhere close to "squat."

Funny thing is... I'm the absolute last guy to defend a Found On Road Dead. Maybe they truly are First On Race Day.

Glad you are enjoying life.

I stand by my earlier statement that, in MY opinion, Ford has not done squat in FRANCECAR.

Chevy and Toyota has left them far, far behind.

I'm not anti-Ford it's just that they have fallen so far that even Dodge appears to be ready to move to third...ahead of Ford.

Enjoy your job. Don't stare too hard. It does damage to the eyes....so I am told! Wink

Roush Yates Engines...

I, Suellen Wilshe, am the largest owner of three (3) RY 360 sprint car engines in

the USA, spent $100,000. We have one Open RY 360 770HP 19 degree heads and we

have two RY ASCS engines we raced on dirt and asphalt. The ASCS

engines have about 700 HP. We have won our share of races and

consistently ran top 3. One might think that $35,000 is alot for an

engine but I look at the payout's from races where we have consistently

been top 4. If we had a lesser engine and ran in the Top 10 than our

winnings would of been at least 15K less minimum. And its alot more

fun running and finishing up front with the extra money. And when you run

in the back you increase your chances on dirt of getting wadded up 400%.

The only reason we are selling our RY 360 open is we are moving to Michigan with our 410

racing program. And the saying goes if you going to a knife fight you might

as well take a Silver Crown 840 HP 12 degree head vs 770HP 19 degree

head as we will race that against the 410's at short tracks with 1501 lbs. The other two

RY 360 ASCS engines are not for sale and we plan to race some SOD

races with Jason Blonde and another guest driver maybe for some of the

best SOD Tracks. The SOD racing is just for fun! We are very pleased

with our 360 engine program. Also working with Jeremy has been simply a
great experience. Suellen Wilshe

PS. I can promise you at every track when we showed up the competitors

were not happy to see the RY Fords!

Cherryville N.C. racer Johnny Bridges won the engine this afternoon! Johnny is the 2010 USCS Asphalt Thunder Champion. Johnny raced a Roush Yates 360 for most of the 2010 season, but due to car owner/sponser circumstances was left without a Ford for 2011.

Thousands of tickets were sold and put in a hopper, Johnny's was drawn. Yes Johnny is lucky! He is a nice guy and a great racer. I am very happy for him, as I would be for you if you won...

BTW Johnny wasn't a customer, he was a driver that used our engine. Johnny Drove Suellen Wilshe's BioBased.us Racing car (10sprintcar10 on this forum).
