DARREN HAGEN FILLS IN FOR INJURED BLAKE MILLER FOR REMAINDER OF THE 2010 SEASON!

(OCTOBER 19, 2010, PERRIS, CA) Longtime Southern California Sprint Car owner Mark Priestley announced today that beginning this Saturday, October 23rd at Perris Auto Speedway, veteran driver Darren Hagen will fill in for the injured Blake Miller for the rest of the 2010 season. In addition to this Saturday, Hagen will also be in the car at the 15th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals at The PAS on November 4th, 5th & 6th, the November 13th Pacific Coast Nationals at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California and the 3rd Annual Glenn Howard Memorial at The PAS on November 27th.

Miller, who was fourth in Amsoil USAC/CRA points with two wins in the Priestley owned #7 in 2010, was ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a broken jaw and cheekbone during a heat race at The PAS on October 9th.

Hagen, a 24-year-old native of Riverside, California, is no stranger to Priestley's car as he drove it to victory in the season opening USAC/CRA race on February 3rd, 2007. In 2005, the year Hagen won both the USAC National Sprint Car and Midget Rookie of the Year awards, he won the opening night preliminary of the Oval Nationals. More than three years before that, the personable driver first stepped into The PAS victory circle when he won the 2002 California Lightning Sprint Car Nationals at the age of 15.

Hagen is currently ranked third in points in the 2010 USAC Mopar National Midget point standings with four main event wins. Three weeks ago he won all three nights of the Gold Crown Midget Nationals at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Illinois.

I feel bad for Blake Miller, but having the Priestly Team add Darren Hagen for the rest of the season is a plus for race fans.
