I have two new 8" Winters rears. One with 11 races in it behind a 360 and one w/ 19 laps behind a 410. The 360 rear has been pushing metal filings for 6 races but is still alive. The 410 rear blew out a pinion tooth then took out the ring gear. (19 LAPS from NEW) Any body else having these problems or is just me?????? I have had nothing but NEO oil in both! Thanks

I have heard as of late that there have been some pretty serious issues going on. A friend of mine that races at elma went through two in a matter of 4 races. He also has heard of several others having pretty serious problems as well. One would think that at some point winters is going to have to stand behind the failures or risk losing many many customers because of it.

If you go to winters webpage and in their catalog it says right on there for what gear lube to use in the rear. Also the rear has to keep the right amount of fluid in it at all times and they sell a breather can that must be used when running one of these rears. I have 2 of them that are behind a 360 and have never had a problem with them. I know alot of people doesn't want to run the breather because it saves weight but it will save your rear. What kind of oil do you run in it I actually run amsoil severe gear racing oil in it and it works great, but I started out with the mobil oil that they recommend and have yet to have an issue.

Most of the Outlaws are still running 10" rears.
