USAC SPRINT CARS TO
COMPETE DURING GOLD CUP WEEKEND
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (October 10, 2010) – The newly formed USAC
Western Classic Racing Series has announced that it will compete at both Silver
Dollar Speedway and Placerville Speedway in 2011 in agreement made with Handy
Racing Promotions on Friday.
The USAC Western Classic Racing Series will
incorporate both sprint cars and midgets in its 2011 campaign on dirt and
asphalt.The series is being promoted as
a “Tribute to NARC” with all races honoring a legendary member of the Northern California racing community.
For the sprint cars, the USAC Western Classic
Racing Series is an extension of the already established “Louie Vermeil
Classic” CRA event on the dirt, and the USAC Western Sprint Car Series on
pavement.
Highlighting the agreement is the USAC Western
Classic Racing Series and CRA competing during the prestigious Gold Cup Race of
Champions on Thursday, September 8,
2011.The event will take place
just one week after the “Louie Vermeil Classic” at Calistoga Speedway and will
be a points event for both series.
In addition to the Gold Cup Race of Champions
date, the USAC Western Classic Racing Series will compete in additional events
at the Silver Dollar Speedway and Placerville Speedway.The schedule is to be announced at a later
date.
These races represent a tremendous opportunity
for race fans to see traditional sprint cars at these historic venues.United States Auto Club races have not been
held at Silver Dollar Speedway since 1996.
