I will be in the Roseville, CA and possibly Irvine, CA area before the end of the year. Are there any dirt tracks around those 2 places?

Well knowing when your coming out here would help to give you options on where to go. Out here in California we get our rain in the end of fall thru winter and early spring so most tracks have no racing or a limited schedule of events during fall.

Ocean Speedway in Watsonville still has a couple more races in their weekly friday night Taco Bravo winged 360's. Its a haul from Roseville or Irvine to Watsonville (basically Santa Cruz area) but the competition is arguably the toughest in the state especially with TK out here racing too. Oct 8th winged sprints, Oct 15th winged sprints. http://www.oceanspeedway.com/index.php

If your anywhere in California north/south you cant miss the Trophy Cup at the central valley track in Tulare, Thunderbowl Raceway. This event has an entry cap of 80 cars and the roster has been full for a couple months. Winged 360's that put on one hell of a show. Qualifying with passing points heats and fully inverted Main. The level of competition is outstanding. Drivers from all over the country will be racing.October 22 & 23, 2010 17th annual $25 general admission for fri and $30 gen admin for sat. I cannot stress enough how fun this event is. TK won it last year from the 24th spot after passing Shane Stewart and Stewart tailed him thru the field the whole way. It was awesome. http://www.thunderbowlraceway.com/

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In November Perris Auto Speedway (PAS) hosts the Oval Nationals an outstanding 3 day event for non wing 410's. Drivers from all over will be in attendance and the racing is guaranteed to be good, it always is. If your in Irvine at this time this is where I would head. Just remember LA traffic is hell and even a short a 30 mile trip can take hours at times. Be preparred to leave early for the races. http://www.perrisautospeedway.com/

Then there is the Ventura Raceway at the fairgrounds on the beach. Closest dirt track to the ocean most likely anywhere in the world. Its a little on the small size but the racing is always great especially the a mains. This is a good option from Irvine as well. http://www.venturaraceway.com/index.html

I think that the question you should be asking is "when'.... Most all of the racing in NorCal is done by now, and the closest thing to Irvine is Perris, but they only have 1 or 2 shows left. Now one of the best shows left is the Oval Nationals at Perris, but you may not be in SoCal when they race...

Oh, and if you are in SoCal around Thanksgiving, there's always Turkey Night at Irwindale

I almost forgot on October 16th the Cotton Classic in Hanford is the place to be. $5,000 to win winged 410s with non winged USAC west coast 360's. Hanford is pretty fast 3/8 mile track that provides good racing most nights.

As far as your original question of what tracks are near Roseville and Irvine. Chico, Marysville and Placerville are the closest unfortunately you wont be finding and racing going on this time of year with the exception of Marysvilles last race:

OCT. 9 POINTS RACE #19 (FINAL)

360 PAC SPRINTS, WINGLESS SPRINTS, STREET STOCKS, MINI STOCKS, PRO 4 SPRINTS
