Tony Jones and the Alexander "Silver Bullet" to be featured

at the Third Annual Fullerton Car Show this Saturday

Fullerton, CA. – 2007 USAC/CRA Champion Tony Jones and his famous Alexander "Silver Bullet" Sprint Car will be featured in this Saturday's third annual Fullerton Car Show in downtown Fullerton.

The car show was first organized in 2006 to bring an annual classic car show to the Orange County city while raising funds for various local charities. In only two years the Fullerton Car Show has become one of the largest one-day events at the Fullerton Plaza. Organizers anticipate more than 200 custom hot rods for the event and the custom cars and trucks will be lined up on the streets of Fullerton. This year's event is titled the "Legends of the Past" and will be held in downtown Fullerton at the Museum Plaza. The event will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 2 and continue until 4 p.m. Trophies will be awarded to the best of each category. Drawings and a band will also be featured.

Jones, who has been on somewhat of a hot streak lately, since the arrival of the team's new Spike chassis that was designed and built in Indiana by Tony's father Bubby Jones. He finished third at Perris on August 28, in the new sprint car's debut and then second on September 18, again at Perris. This past Saturday, Jones dueled with Corey Kruseman wheel-to-wheel at Ventura Raceway only to finish second again. A win is now due this hard working team and with the Oval Nationals only a few short weeks away they seem to be peaking at the right time. Another Spike chassis has been ordered and is expected to be delivered at the Alexander shop in Torrance this week. Only two of these chassis are in existence with the first one back in Indiana that is being run by young Blake Fitzpatrick with Bubby Jones and Jake Argo handling the wrenches. They are expected to be out for the Oval Nationals in November.

Jones and several Mark Alexander crew members and team sponsors are expected to be at the Fullerton Car Show and the team will have several give-aways from Perris Auto Speedway and racing videos provided by Raceway Video to entertain the several hundred car fans anticipated.

Jones and the Mark Alexander team are sponsored by Scott Sales, La Villa Mexican Restaurant, Ferreira Dairy, VP Racing Fuels, VGI Graphics, Scotty Stalmo Trucking, Garnica Trucking, Larry Murakami Contracting, SCRAFAN, Extreme Mufflers, Berdoo Auto Body, Zanzabuku Sports Lounge, Socal Performance and Ray's Trucking.

Perris Auto Speedway will make their presence known this Saturday in Fullerton, as Tony Jones will be awarding free tickets to the race track if anyone can beat his time in one of Randy Waitman's sprint car simulators. Waitman will have the simulators set up next to the Alexander sprint car display and anyone willing to challenge Jones and beat his time will be awarded a pair of tickets to the PAS.
