Before anyone jumps me about posting this...I am doing this because those of us who had cars scratched up at the Nationals (and other things that may have happened) may need more information for insurance purposes. This came directly off of KNIA's news websites.
The Knoxville Police Department has been investigating a series of vandalism cases within the city recently and have successfully identified two groups of suspects. Police Chief Dan Losada tells KNIA/KRLS news a group of four juveniles were charged with criminal mischief Tuesday for vandalism of property near Reed’s Automotive. The charges have been referred to the Juvenile Court Officer. In addition, another group of juveniles has been identified in connection with recent damages at the Methodist Church and Losada says those charges will be filed in the near future. He adds that the Knoxville Police Department continues to investigate as they believe there may be one more group or individual actively vandalizing property in the city. Losada believes the majority of the victims were likely chosen at random, though there has been at least one case where the victim was targeted.

I believe it was "unsavory varmints" who come to town because we are all an "easy mark" at Nationals time.

thats a funney one right there , lord I apologize , I watched a garbage can steal my can coozie strait from my hands once , (well I think it did? ) If I wouldnt have been distracted after the mile hike back to the camper, I proubly would have reported it , Honestly, its too bad about the vandals, there is quite a few of us , "Adults" that like to have fun and be responcable , but, you know what one bad apple does...

just throwing this out there, but it's Homecoming week in Knoxville and the kids have been up to a little more than just the usual TP mischeif.....some serious vandalism this week, and it's such a sad deal they are acting this way
I'm not sure when the events mentioned above actually happened, or if they are even related

That is trying real hard to start trouble
Name one school or city that hasn't had trouble at homecoming
The problem is usually not the kids it is the parents that forgot to teach them not to destroy things that do not belong to them
That is a big stretch hooking those together

Not for nothing, but there were quite a few posts on here with people getting mouthy about travelers from across the country coming into Knoxville and committing crime during Nationals' week, instead of injecting money into the local Knoxville economy. Does not look like that was the case.

I don't disagree with you one bit, the kids have no respect and no class to do the things they've done not only this week, but some of the things they've done the last few homecomings
I'm not trying to link Nationals with homecoming, I'm referring to the clip that was copy/pasted at the top of this thread....but assuming everything at Nationals was from out-of-towners isn't right either.

Its good to hear its not out of towners that were causing the vandalism in town. Precisely what I suspected. The out of towners (myself included) seem to be really grateful of the hospitality shown by Knoxville. The stir crazy local teens doing this vandalism need a good ass whooping. A town with little to do for teens breeds bad behavior for just the thrill of it if nothing else. Call me crazy...

Every teenager in the United States lives in the most boring town in the country. If there are things to do, then they whine about it costing money.

I have no doubt that some of vandalism was due to teenagers I doubt all of it was because I know how drunk people can be at times. It doesn't matter who did it, It's just sad that people have it happen to them when they don't deserve it. I live next door to a business that seems to attract these idiots and they come in all ages, A couple days ago in broad daylight I hear some noises and look out the window just in time to see one kid out of a group pick up a softball size rock and throw it at the windshield of a car parked behind the building. They all jumped on their bikes and took off down the street. I jumped in my truck and chased them down and caught them about a half a block away. Of course they all denied it and said it wasn't them and they never saw anything ect....even though both me and my girlfriend just saw everything.
Once the cops got involved they suddenly knew so much more.
If I would have done crap like that when I was a kid I wouldn't have been able to sit down for a month.
