A very questionable call last night in heat race one at Chico.
They claim pole sitter Golobic slowed the pace to much
between entering turn three and the starting line in turn four,
sending him back a row and moving up Schatz. Schatz then
runs 2nd in heat and winding up on the pole of the dash.
Never heard of the pole sitter being sent back for something
like this. Had the names been reversed would they have made the
same call. I don't think so.

I agree. I watched that part of the video over and over again, Golobic did nothing wrong at all. Johnny says "Golobic is sent back a row for - brake checking - and the world of outlaws officials will have none of it" They made that call in like 2 seconds from the first attempted start. Golobic did NOT brake check! He was pole sitter he gets to set the pace the outside car jumped the start and correct me if I am wrong but that was Jayme Barnes I believe. What a crock of bull. The video is posted on dirtvision and you dont need a subscription to see it, its open for anyone with a sign in name to watch, its at 58:00min mark.
Then the next heat, Johnny says something to the effect "the pole sitter (joey saldana) gets to set the pace, THEY decide when to get on the gas between turn 3 and 4" well thats funny because that is not true according to their own BS calls. This time however it was an Outlaw driver on the pole. --- CORRECTION -- I went back and watched the video again and Johnny says on double file restarts the leader gets to decide when to get on the gas. --- Well that may be but the deal with Golobic should have penalized Barnes for jumping the start but that wouldnt have helped Shatz. Who knows I felt right away when watching the video they made a bogus call.
There has been so much obvious favortism shown towards the outlaw drivers at the Gold Cup over the years its almost laughable. Kyle Hirst was screwed either last year or the year before (its been awhile its tough to recall) and in that deal it was clearly bias being dealt out.

thats why I am setting here at home, the BS just got to be to much.
THE only way to get some releif from this is we as fans need to stay home from a few of these big races while letting the promoter know why we are not showing up.
I do beleive that after a half or less grandstand that the promoters will be telling the WoO.their needs to be some changes.

Seriously? Michael Jordan always got an extra step, and the place was packed. Greg Maddux always got an extra inch on each side of the plate, and I dont remember the stands being empty for him. Jerry Rice always got to give an extra little push on the defensive back, and I dont remember a blackout in San Fran protesting his special treatment. If this is actually what happened (and i really think you WOO haters WAY overdue it), it is nothing new or out of the ordinary in professional sports including auto racing. So if you actually think that everyone will stay home until the owners of a particular venue make some changes, ask a Cubs fan how that has worked since 1908. Lifes too short, go enjoy the race.

I don't believe "brake checking" was the correct term to use. Golobic just didn't get on the gas at all, which was wrong. He went past the starting stripe at idle.

He didn't get on the gas cause he hadn't gotten to the line yet.

Pole sitter always sets the pace. Barnes obviously got on the gas early, before the line. WoO officials said Golobic "break checked", thats the term they used. It was a crappy call that obviously one of their own. Its known throughout the pits that WoO officials will screw the local driver to benefit one of their own when possible.

Yue should attend a race at a DIRT owned facility on a regular points nite. After last winters tire-gate "almost" boycott, the rules were applied very loosely to "decision" many races, and affect points results, and penalize those thought to be on the wrong side of the fence!Politics should have no place in racing, but if you side with management, they WILL find a way to help you!

From what I have seen, on an initial start, with zero laps completed, the front row starts the race together at the line, not whenever the pole sitter feels like it after passing the line. On a restart following a yellow or red, the leader -after choosing his lane- can start where he chooses between turn 3 and exit of turn 4 giving him some sort of advantage for leading when the field was bunched up.
They probably thought he was brake checking because everyone behind him started to go. Usually at the white line is where guys can start getting out of line and manuvering to pass cars. I was not at the drivers meeting last week so I cannot say what was said in this case but I've been to them at other tracks and usually the chief starter says they must stay nose to tail and no passing until they hit the line.
