Thanks alot to the A-hole that stole the Jan Opperman banner from the Knoxville Raceway. I have enjoyed looking at that every Saturday night all summer and then some drunk jerkoff decided he needed it more than the rest of the world. So who ever you are, thanks, I hope carma finds you.And if anybody sees a 25' Jan Opperman banner hanging in your neighbors garage, call the cops on the dumba$$. And people can't understand why some Knoxville people can't stand Nationals, it is because of people like you that think what you want is more important than everything and everybody else. Maybe you will sober up one of these years and feel a little guilty, just mail it back so every body else can enjoy the history. Until then I hope you choke on your vomit you drunken idiot. Wow I do feel better. Sorry for the rage. Hopefully some justice will come of this.

Knoxville resident or whoever it just sucks. This is why people are started staying home from the Nationals. All the crowds and drunks !!! Also the narrow seats in the grandstands. There are always people fighting over the area they think is there seat. Just my opinion.

Two things.

I hope you get it back.

I hope some "local" did it so you can take turns doing some redecorating of his property! Wink

A couple things here:

1- wasnt this stolen a couple weeks "after" the Knoxville Nationals, not during? So I fail to see how this is caused by the Nationals crowd.

2- the seats may be somewhat narrow but alot of the spectators could really use to shed alot of pounds. I have, along with my brother, purchased an entire extra seat so as to not be crammed in like a sardine and it didnt matter we still had less than 2 seats space even with buying a third open seat. All around us were people who would never be able to fly on Southwest Airlines for a single ticket price and I see NO valid reason why they should be able to purchase a single seat at Knoxville either. Its not my fault they weigh over 300 pounds. I am not kidding here either it really sucks to put up with the inconsiderate seat hoarders especially when its a lifestyle choice. LOL

Were you there when this person stole the banner? If not how are you so certain it was a "drunken idiot"? It could have been a pack of teenagers pulling a prank for all you really know. Lets not cast too many aspersions about us folks who enjoy barley pops. ;-)

I enjoy a cold one as much as the next guy. I am not saying that, I am talking to the people that can't hold it or hold to many. And your right I don't know it was somebody from out of town. I was assuming because it has been there all year so if it was somebody that lived here why would it disappear during Nationals. I may be making alot of assumptions, but I am just so disgusted by peoples ignorance. Why couldn't they have stole one of the many Kinser ones. Why steal the only Jan Opperman one? Just frustrated I guess and I am glad to see I am not the only one.

It was there during Nationals and gone at the next weekly show. So like I said I don't know for sure, but you are missing the point. It is not when it was stolen it is the fact that it was stolen. I don't care if it was an aussie or a guy that lives across the street, it just pissed me off that somebody was stupid. Ok I am done.

They were stolen Saturday Night of the Nationals.

Opperman and Bobby Allen for Sure (they cut the Bobby Allen one).

IMO, it was someone in their early 20's. If they were with a parent, the parents would have kicked their @ss for being stupid. Anyone over 25 quit caring about "banners" a year or two before (they don't have any real value and unless they are generic (Budweiser, Pepsi, etc.), pretty much anyone would know where you got it if you displayed it at a campsite.

One thing i have learned from this whole thread is that someday when i retire, i will move to knoxville. not for the great racing, but because of the lack of criminals. it is nice to know that all of the criminals reside in outlying towns and that it is not possible for a local to have committed such an act. I will be sure to leave town during special events or lock myself in my house though so the insane out of town law breakers don't get me. One thing i have learned in every place that i have visited: there is no crime until out of towners or out of staters visit. Their town is filled with saints.

I hope you catch the sarcasm, cause i'm laying it on pretty thick!!!

Knoxville has just as many thugs, crooks, drunk teenagers and pranksters as any of the towns/cities in the rest of the state or area. What a joke to imply that somehow the ratio of these types of people is skewed when the nationals visit town. 99.9% of the people at the nationals would never dream of stealing or vandalizing anything in town, just as 99.9% of the locals wouldnt either. But i am going to guess that there is still crime in knoxville when the track and the campgrounds are empty.

I thought the Knoxville PD got laid off after the Nationals and then came back next year when the 360's started their Nationals. Dumb me.Wink

I am laying on blame on someone that visited here or a local - could be either, but I'll stand by my thought that it's someone in their early 20's...

I have tried to narrow this down.

I'm beginning to think it MIGHT have been one of those "rowdys" from the TK 2 A.M. group.

If I were going to Chico I would check out the 83 hauler. Ya never know!

Come on now, everyone knows that OKCFan is the only guy from out of town that would actually travel to see the 360 Nationals. wink
