Tim Shaffer.
Obviously won the biggest race of the year, tore through the Thunder through the Plains (Huset's had some quality cars, Belleville obviously didn't), has killed the Allstars this year, and has an Outlaws win.

Im going to say, Bud Kaeding.
He has wins in australia, new mexico, and california.
305, wingless 360, wingless 410, winged 410, and leading silver crown points once again.

Without a doubt, Shane Stewart. He's been on fire all year and his Knoxville Nationals performance capped it off.

The following drivers are my top picks, in no particular order of course:
Tim Shaffer - Obviously having a great year and the Nationals win may have sealed the deal. Not sure on his win totals or his top 5 finishes either.
Jon Stanbrough - He is always tough in Indiana and this year I think he leads the nation in wins so far with 17 or 18.
Bryan Clausen - Just having a phenomenal year in the non-wing classes. 10 midget wins and 4 sprint wins plus another 24 top 5 finishes for a total of 38 top 5 finishes this year.
Shane Stewart - His win totals aren't as impressive as the 3 listed above, but still has 10 wins and 23 top 5 finishes plus he is in 3rd place in the ASCS National series. He has had some big wins at Knoxville and the Dirt Cup which is nothing to sneeze about.
Joey Saldana - 12 wins and 33 top 5's in the tough WoO series.
Steve Kinser - 7 wins and 32 top 5's to prove his career is not quite over with yet.
Daryn Pittman - 8 wins in Posse land is good performance considering the tough, tough competition there. Overall he has had 24 top 5 finishes this season.

It was this year and Shaffer did win both of the prelim nights...however, he finished 12th in the finale. Wayne Johnson won the King of the 360's this year.

I would have to say Tim Shaffer is having the best all around year but for the most improved year I say it would go to Sammy Swindell its great to see the old man kickn ass again.
Dirt is for racing, asphalt is for the parking lot.

Jason Johnson hands down! Has 16 wins so far this season. Started his team from nothing. Leading the ASCS national points. Solid showing at the nationals.
