Pretty quiet on the board considering Spence swept the night and no one even had the points leader winning this week. Where's the love?

I've worked for a handful of those guys and I cheer for the five-o every week. I just can't figure out why people don't get pumped up for Spencer. The guy won a Deano this week after getting stuck in a bad place on the start and passing a bunch of cars. I just think that its unfortunate that an intelligent, nice dude who drives his a$$ off every week rarely gets any praise from the fans on this board.

Just my two cents, but I think Mike Spencer does a great job representing west coast, traditional sprint cars all over the country. He is well-spoken, fan-friendly and a great driver.

Shaw, completely agree. Mike is a great guy and drives w/ this head. Unfortunately many people (the great turn 4 Rob excluded) focus their attention to the so-called "gassers". The guys whose greatest talent is a heavy right foot. Mike is balanced and I think the results prove it.

I was thinking about Mike yesterday and who he reminded me of from 30 years ago. The answer was easy. Five-time CRA champion Jimmy Oskie. Their styles are similar. Smooth, calculated, always under control and always going forwards. Some others, who have a more spectacular style were/are more popular, but nobody can argue the success of Spencer or Oskie. Remember, if Mike wins the title this year, he will only be two behind Jimmy and remember where Jimmy's career took him. Into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.

Much better fellas, and hell I even agree with dummy. Cory doesn't get the same admiration that he used to and he has done an exceptional job for our sport as a driver, teacher and overall ambassador for sprints, midgets and crown cars.
I just think Spence needs a nickname Scott. What do you think of "The Temecula Thunder?"
Just my humble opinion,
Shaw

"Smooth" the one word that describes Mike, high or low he is smooth. California needs Mike more than Indiana
