I don't even remember the last time I posted here. All I know it has been so long that I had to have my password sent to me. Just wanted to let everyone know that Janet Holbrook keeps her word. At the Ultimate Challenge Janet and I had a conversation about winning the Nationals and that she would write a check for $5,000 to Dingus for drinks to celebrate. She did just that and continues to stay true to her word. Thanks Janet and congrats to you and Shaffer.

The next thing Janet and the other owner need to do with their winnings is to buy the All-Stars from Guy Webb. At this time, the fair market value of that series cannot be very high. That, less the money that Webb still owes the Emricks and/or Janet should bring the actual payment quite low.

I would have thought much more of this "act" if the money had been given to a local food kitchen.
I am sure they need the money more than a bunch of drunks at Dingus!

Celebrating with the fans that make racing possible. A promise was made and was kept. You don't know anything else about the team, you're just negative, and I hope your day is great!

Negative? No way.
Let the "fans" buy their own beer and celebrate with Tim, the owners and the crew.
Just trying to be a bit more realistic about how that $5K could have been put to a much better use.
Maybe hire security next year so we can get the "actual facts" about TK and his band of fans!

Interesting. Not sure what the TK comment is about. It's always curious to me when posters here "suggest" what other people do with their equipment, what drivers they have, what crew they hire, and in this case how they spend THEIR money. I'm sure you could or could have put your money to better use as well, but probably didn't. Again, have a great day.

If I had all the money I spent over the past 55 years or racing I wouldn't be sitting here exchanging thoughts with you, sprinty!
I would be in HI-WHY-EEE sitting on the beach enjoying a cold glass of sweet-tea!

You've just proved my point...you spent it how you wanted, on racing.

get off your high horse. it seems that janet has been employing people who work on her car, as well as product manufacturers and race promoters by just running the team. that in itself amounts to way over 5k. so she is putting food in people's mouths. you have no idea what she may do with any of her money to benefit others. your comments are why this county is getting out of hand in the sense that people are trying to tell other people what is the best way to live their own live and spend what THEY have earned. i am sure the people who spent the amount of money it takes to trvel to, stay , eat, and buy tickets to knoxville the past two weeks could have done better things with their money. besides, you could probably find a better way to spend the money you do on internet service. besides, the "fans" ARE buying their own beer. where do you think the prise money came from? use your head!
to indy and beyond!!

You know your really just turning into a bitter old man and its sad to see. You preach about morals and biblical type ideals but yet you post judgements about others on a near constant basis. My suggestion to you is live your life the way you want and allow others to do the same but most of all spare the public judgement of others. In another ironic twist you always piss and moan about Obama and the concept of spreading wealth around yet you want Shaffers car owner to give their money away to charity. You have a very twisted form of logic.
Cheers!

Henry, glad you could put the Carlo Rossi down long enough to chime in.
This is about racing...not about some idiot elected to office.
I speak my feelings about the $5K spent on beer. Again, MY feelings.
Judge me all you want....I find great humor in it.
I guess the real sad thing was you weren't there to drink up $4k of the $5K they spent!
Hope the lady finds sponsorship to put Shaffer on the road full-time. He can certainly wheel a car.
Can you drink to that?

Would that be Carlo Rossi's less illustrious wife .... isn't she a vintner of Shirley Temple 'Red' ??

I know, but I don't think the "after the races crowd" goes in that place to eat...if you know what I mean.

I was one of the "drunks" at dingus saturday night, and I had a great time celebrating with a good hard working racer who had a dream come true. Personally, if I ever that the pleasure of winning the nationals, I probably would have done the same thing.........btw, the party at dingus saturday, was awesome.

You know there are always posters on these forums railing against us "drunks" and it seems us "drunks" just go about our business and leave them to their miserable boring lives. Maybe these holy rollers should take a page from our play book and lighten up a little. The funny thing is too that none of these prima donnas have the nerve to call us "drunks" to our face, only when they are behind their keyboards will they get all tough guy.
Cheers!
