I'm sure by now everyones heard about the tragic off road accident yesterday as its all over the national new. Someone just sent me this story also.
The race that killed a driver Saturday night may be the last ever at Marysville Raceway Park.
Thirteen hours after a racer died in the wreck of a semi-truck at the Linda course, promoters Paul and Kathy Hawes announced the racetrack would permanently close after 46 years. The current race season had been scheduled to continue through Oct. 23.
“We’re done for good,” Paul Hawes said this morning while discussing the death of Merle Allen Shepherd Jr., a 56-year-old driver from Rio Linda whose vehicle overturned during Saturday’s inaugural semi-truck event.
