im sure this has been asked b4 but im just too lazy to search as im scrambling to find another hotel as ours closed down today because of the flood waters but is hi-way 5 open from desmoines to Knoxville?

You might have to go outside Marion County. On the radio yesterday I heard them say how the nationals were goo for the local economy and that every single hotel room, motel room, bed n breakfast, in Marion County was booked.

yea i know everything was booked thats why we were staying in Ames as the state fair is goin on in des moines too but i just said eff it and is paying way to much now for a room at one of the "upper" class joints in des moines

Have you checked Norwalk, Indianola, or Altoona? I think those would be good locations for what you're wanting to do if they have rooms and maybe something less expensive.

Hiway 5 is open from Des Moines to Knoxville. You will have no problems.
