Streeter fights tight race car to 8th place finish
By Gary Thomas
Chico, CA - April 22, 2007...Matt Streeter and the Orth Family Racing team have shown some serious speed so far in 2007 and came into Silver Dollar Speedway Point Race #4 sitting fourth in the wingless spec sprint point standings. It could have even been a higher placing had contact not sent the A.R.T. Enterprise, M & S Racing engines machine out of contention while battling for the lead the previous Friday.
Matt was set to line-up on the outside of the second row in heat race number two, but officials deemed that Matt had started to early and set him back two rows. He had to get up on the wheel now and he did just that as he powered the Mike German & Sons, Vaughn & Family No. 24 into third early on. The final lap saw Matt close in on the top three and the trio went nose to tail into the final corner. Matt drove it clean off turn four and scored a third place finish in the exciting heat race.
The 20 lap main event saw Matt line-up on the outside of the fourth row. He moved up to sixth early on and then battled around the eighth position for much of the race. Matt fought a tight race car on the 1/4 mile bullring and after 20 laps he brought the T & T Trucking Inc, Orth Family Racing No. 24 home in eighth.
Next Friday will see Matt and Orth Family Racing compete in Silver Dollar Speedway Point Race #5. Matt goes into the night once again sitting fourth in points.
