Welcome to Iowa. Our weather? Give it 5 minutes, it'll change.
Bye bye, Hardhat!

I thought that was Melbourne Australia's trade mark: 4 seasons in one day.

We got a little over 4 inches of rain in Albia last night. Does anyone know how much Osky got?

I think we got ALOT. :P ..... I'm not sure how the trailers in the pits will work tonight. It will be very hot and humid as I believe there will be a heat advisory today.

Couple years ago I remember all the trailers being lined up along the streets with teams getting ready right in front of people's houses. Rain made the pit area unwalkable, let alone undriveable. They also scrapped the track like crazy just to get the races in and the track basically had an inside wall and an outside wall. They skipped the king of the hill races and did a pill draw, where "somehow" Schatz won and accepted the challenge only to break.

Kellogg between Newton and Pella ..3.77 inches in my gauge ... It was like when it couldn't storm any harder ... it did.
Kids haven't jumped in our bed for a few years ... that lightning and thunder this morning took care of their 'bravery.'
Dog wasn't far behind ... good thing it isn't on slats.

the way it looks now, i would say we have a good chance of all four days running as scheduled. all of the weather stations are starting to be in some agreement of the general pattern of this weeks weather. it looks as though the most unsettled weather will remain through wednesday morning and the chances of rain either disappear or lessen significantly the following 2 to 3 days. (depending on who you listen to) the amount of rain potential is also significantly lower than the last 3-4 days. it looks like the slight chances of rain on thursday and friday are for the over night hours and the chance for rain (right now) for saturday looks to be the daytime. lets keep our fingers crossed. doesnt look to be as bad as forecast for last year or the dreadful 2005 edition.

2005 ... yikes... that was bad and good. Mostly because they kept trying and trying and we kept sitting and sitting. Then there was the track record fiasco ... which doesn't matter now. Got through 4 heats and were in the 5th on Thursday, then rained out and reran EVERYTHING the next night. Time trials were .8 slower. Then Friday and Saturday shows were run on Sunday...that year is definitely one for Knoxville story tellers. I will talk about that week 25 years from now. Kraig Kinser won that Sunday, there are more stories than I have time for.

Sooooooooooo you are to blame????? My first year was 1991, and got rained out the first day also. Happens to the best of us. I've been through many rain outs over the last 19 years.
