I never thought i would say this but in a couple of days i am going to see the outlaws at I-55 and i'm not excited. I was just thinking the only drivers i pay to see are Dollansky and maybe Sides. Used to be me and my girlfriend would go crazy days before a race because we were going to see Pittman, Tmac, Tatnell, Solwold, Stewart and Dollansky. Hell for awhile we had new guys like Campbell to root for. It would take me days to decide what shirt to wear. I guess times have changed. I sure don't like it and i know there isn't much that can be done about it but i sure do miss those days. We would hit 4-6 Woo races a summer. Now just I-55 for this year. Maybe less next.

Are you serious?
Pittman, TMAC, Tatnell, Solwold, Stewart and Dollansky you say "used to" excite you..
How many World Of Outlaws wins are you talking there???
Have you not seen Joey Saldana run the boards everywhere he goes?
Have you not seen a guy by the name of Steve Kinser win over 500 feature races?
Have you forgot about a guy called the Wild Child who is back out putting it all on the line with his famous win it or wear it attitude?
Some boring 4 time champion Donny Schatz who is a master at taking a car to the front, especially in heavy traffic?
Dollansky is the Crowd Pleaser and he I certainly agree with you on.
Did I mention another old guy by the name of Sammy Swindell, who now in a true WoO ride is back spanking most cars on each and every night.
This year the points race is the hottest I have seen in for as long as I can remember, yet the only thing you can get excited about is Dollansky and Sides..
Give me a break.
BTW No disrespect to the above named drivers in Pittman, TMAC, Tatnell, Soldwold and Stewart... They too make any show a lot better when they pull on into the pits at a racetrack.

I like to go to the pits and talk to some of the drivers after the races. Some guys you can't. ALL of the guys i listed you can and they will actually look at you when they talk to you. That's all i'm saying about that period
I like variety. I don't want to watch the same 2-4 teams win every night. When all the guys i listed were racing you didn't know who was going to win. I didn't start this thread to turn into another hoseheads pissing match i was just stating things have changed and in MY opinion not for the better.

Just to make a point--16 different winners BEFORE the Knoxville Nationals is a new WoO record.

Are you serious?? A great points battle all year, different winners, more passing, what more do you want? Do you remember the days when Kinser and Swindell won half the races on the schedule? If I wasn't looking forward to I55, I wouldn't go. For me, Pevely will be a 2 night stop on my way to Knoxville and I am looking forward to it. Hope to see you there, or not.

Ive been going to WoO shows for at least 20 years, and I'm probably as excited or more excited about the Ironman 55 than I've ever been.... there are a ton of guys that can win this race. It's wide open... Plus all the Penn Posse cars coming... last year Dewease sat on the pole

Here's another thought. If it's so boring for you and your girl friend-----DON'T GO----.
I've bee to 2 races this year and they were as good as I have seen. Vegas and Lima Ohio. I may be prejudiced since I am for Kinser, but they were really exciting races with him running second in both after starting around 8th in both.
You guys should go to a movie or something.........

This is what "outlaw_fan_7_8" posted on another forum a couple of days ago:
IRONMAN 55
Only a few days away. I've been waiting for this since they took the checkers last year on Saturday. So many guys to watch. 9 is defending champ and is strong 14 is fast and can win 11 is driving like he is THE KING again 7 really knows how to get around the place 7s has really figured the place out and is my pick to win this year 5w is fast this year and knocking on the door for that first win 91 can be damn fast and I don't know if he has ever won at I-55
and there are a few returning posse. Dewease, Smith, Rahmer Outsiders that might show. Kaeding, Madsen, Walker, Blaney.
Should be a fun fricken weekend.
Maybe his girlfriend needs to check if he is taken his meds correctly.

Hahahaha, BUSTED!!!!! Somebody looking to stir the pot.
Thanks for the FACTS Johnny as I have only had the chance to get to one Outlaw show this year (Husets) and it was one of the best races I have ever seen. I do have the Nationals, Spencer, and Deer Creek on my schedule though. The racing this year has certainly been exciting to listen to on Dirtvision as well as watch as I purchased the full pass to view the live broadcast when they are available. I will be watching I55 from the computer this weekend and can't wait to head to Knoxville in a week!!

What point might that be? On one message board you say how you can't wait and are so excited to go and on another board you say how dissappointed you are going to be because the same people are winning all the time. As Johnnie pointed out there are a record of different winners this year before the nationals.

ok let me try this again. Yes i was excited when i posted that. Back when the other guys were racing and there was a BUNCH of guys who could win AND you could approach in the pits i was very excited and up by 6am on race day. This weekend i doubt i will be up by 10am (i'm a night shifter).
I guess i made it to complicated for some of you. All i was saying was i miss all the guys on the tour. They were always fun to watch. They would add to the excitement of the double file restarts and the great racing that they have this year. Some of you just have to turn everything into a pissing match.

I'm missing your point...
You said you haven't been to a race yet this year, right? So that means you have yet to see a race on Goodyear tires this year...putting it lightly, it's much better. Plus there are 17(?) traveling Outlaws this year, that's pretty damn impressive in this economy. And much higher then last years 8ish.

He makes less sense than I do
I think he read his own post and can't figure it out either and thought it would be easier to just give up
Never mind means we are stupid
