The Schneiderman Boys are Rockin' at Knoxville
(West Burlington, IA – 7/28/2010) This past Saturday, Josh Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports #49 headed back to Knoxville Raceway. The strong qualifying efforts for the 49 team continued as Josh and his Ideal Ready Mix, Pro Shocks, Hephner Racing Products machine registered the 3rd fastest time of the night. "One end of the track was completely different from the other," commented Schneiderman. "The crew acted quickly and had the car working the corners perfectly and Dad had the motor tuned up and running well."
With the setting sun, the i wireless, J&J Auto Racing, Automotive Machine sprinter would start the third heat race in the 6th position. On a one lane race track Josh did what he could, nabbing the final transfer spot, finishing 5th. "The car was really strong in the heat race, but there was absolutely no passing," said the UNI Senior, "I tried the bottom there on the last lap and gave up the 4th spot. I should have settled for 4th, but we had such a strong run I thought we might be able to get 3rd. All that matters is we finished in a transfer spot and made the invert for the feature."
As the cushion neared the fence, Josh and the Morning Sun Farm Implement, Liberty Transport, Engler Injection #49 would start the feature in the 5th spot. After a very questionable start, Josh would find himself in the 9th position. He quickly shook off the start and started to work his way forward, closing in on the 6th spot by a lap 14 caution. The Symposium Talent, ButlerBuilt, Weld Wheels machine would have a great restart, with Josh sliding his way to the 6th position in turn one. The #49 quickly went to work on the high side, banging away at the cushion and soon flew around the 5th place car. Schneiderman would try to run down 4th, but in the end he would settle for his second consecutive top 5 finish. "I'm really happy with another top five run, especially after that awful start," said 'the Professor', "We have something going right now and we are one of the fastest cars on the race track every race. Hopefully we can keep this momentum for the Nationals and put ourselves into our first A-Main. Whatever happens I'm having a lot of fun right now."
Jarrod brought his i wireless, BlackBird Motorsports, Shottenkirk Parts Express #88 back to Knoxville again this week to compete in the 360 division. With a quickly drying track surface, Jed put down a solid lap and qualified 16th out of the 29 competitors, putting him on the pole of the first heat race. The J&J Auto Racing, Hephner Racing Products, Engler Injection machine quickly shot out to the lead. Jed would fight hard the whole race and would cross the line in the 4th spot and transfer to the A-Main. 'Woody' gained some valuable experience and learned some important lessons which he would apply in the feature. Starting his #88 Hoosier Tires, J&J Steel, Bobby Jacks Racing Engines in the 14th spot, Jed wasted little time in working his way forward and by race's end he would cross the line in the 8th spot, his first top ten in the 360 class!
This coming Saturday night the Schneiderman 'DUO' will be splitting up, with Josh taking his i wireless #49 to Knoxville and Jarrod bringing his shiny blue/black #88 i wireless 305 sprinter out and making an appearance at the 34 Raceway for i Wireless night.
