Lots of traffic on this subject over on SCRAFAN. I thought I saw it on here, but it must have gone into cyber space. All the interest is on non wing sprint cars. This is my take.

CA Sprint Week would be a dream come true. I think the major problem will be agreement on the tracks. There's no way to make everybody happy Logic says the bulk of the racing should be in Central CA because of the huge distances, so I'll throw this out just to keep the thread alive: Tulare, Hanford, Santa Maria, Watsonville, Calistoga and back to Hanford and Tulare.
Ventura is out because the promoter there never wants to go along with other people's rules and it's too small, plus it's not enroute to anywhere else. Everybody loves Tulare and Hanford and they have good seating and good access. Hanford seems to have it's act together finally.Calistoga is a bit far, but it's famous, challenging and seats a lot of people.
I'd make it an open 360 show to get the car count up. Better yet, run both classes with no support classes. How about $5,000 to win for both features and $25,000 for the series champ? Run it in the fall around Trophy Cup.
I mean, we are just dreaming here, aren't we? Fire away!

throw in petaluma if you are going to stoga and take out the second tulare and hanford. 6 races in 7 days. the thing is there are good cars in the p-ville area that would run chico and p-ville if those tracks could be added. most of those cars don't seem to want to travel. not even with civil war. the ocean cars seem to be willing to go anywhere. might have to dump santa maria to get chico and p-ville just because of logistics. w-ville would more than likely have to be on a fri or sat as i don't know if they could run mid week. i don't know about the other tracks that may be able to put on a mid week show other than p-ville and maybe chico. might have to do it over two weekends with a mid week race in the middle at chico and p-ville. not a bad dream though. problem is in this economy, people are pretty much out of money late in the season (both racers and fans) and/or saving money for t-cup. still, we can dream.

Most of the 360 guys around here work for a living, so I don't see them all traveling anywhere for a whole week, JMO. I think the Gold Cup invitational works out ok because those guys schedule a day off to run it, plus its only one night.

If I had to plan a speedweek though it would look like this.....

Chico, marysville, placerville, petaluma, hanford, tulare and end at either watsonville/santa maria/chowchilla. Again JMO.

The older I get, the faster I used to be.

Talking is all we're doing at this point. I hear strong support for a date at Placerville. No problem eliminating a Hanford or Tulare date. I like Petaluma, but not sure the promoter would have any interest. Some thinking is there aren't enough 410s around CA, but there's a lot of midwest teams in town in the late fall. Certainly no shortage of cars for Trophy Cup.

Ponder this: Open 360s with modifieds in support. How about this for a loop? Tulare, Hanford, Santa Maria, Watsonville, Placerville, Petaluma, Calistoga. Friday, Sat, Sunday--Tuesday, Wed--

Friday, Sat

Let's keep it going.
