Speedway This Weekend for NCRA Late Models

IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Midwest City, Oklahoma – July 26, 2010 - It is yet another
weekend double for the Wichita, Kansas based O’Reilly/NCRA late model touring
division as they make their annual trip to Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge
City, Kansas this coming Saturday night as part of the city’s “Dodge City Days”
celebration. It is then on to 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas on Sunday night
for the series second and final appearance of the season. Both races will also
see the Colorado based Colorado Late Model Association DIRTCar series competing
as well.
Four-time series champion Kelly Boen of Henderson, Colorado will once
again come in as points leader with a 220 point advantage over Bellevue,
Nebraska’s Corey Zeitner.Boen is a four
time feature winner at Dodge City Raceway Park and has won this event the past
two years in a row. Last year Boen decimated the field in lapping all
competitors on the three-eighth mile oval. He also has six career series feature
victories at 81 Speedway.
Series
rookie Jase Kaser of Lincoln, Nebraska currently holds down the third position
in the point standings and also leads in rookie of the year honors. Jason
O’Brien of Atlantic, Iowa sits fourth in the point standings while Soloman,
Kansas driver Wylan Petrie rounds out the top five.
Two-time and defending series champion Kyle Berck currently sits sixth in
the point standings but is not expected to compete. Just weeks after splitting
from car owner Bill Koons, former two-time series champion Al Purkey of
Coffeyville, Kansas is coming off two straight top three finishes from last
weekend and currently sits seventh.
Other
touring drivers expected to compete include Shawn Harker (Plattsmouth,
Nebraska), Dean Moore (Grand Junction, Colorado), Jerry Warner (Lavesta,
Nebraska), Delbert Smith (Wichita), Gary Scott Christian (Broken Bow,
Oklahoma).
The CLMA is led by current series point leader Eddie Kirchoff of
Gillette, Wyoming but he is not expected to compete. Other series regulars
include Jason Schierkolk
(Casper, Wyoming), Dave Garmann (Brighton, Colorado), Scott Lewis (Henderson,
Colorado), Eric Mass (Rapid City, South Dakota) and John Bey (Sturgis, South
Dakota).
Thus far through the fourteen events held, Boen has amassed seven
feature victories with six other drivers reaching victory lane in 2010 with the
only other repeat winner being Terry Phillips of Springfield, Missouri who is
not expected to compete this weekend.
Both events pay $2500 to win and $400 to start each feature finale.
Draw fee is $100.
Pit gates for Dodge City Raceway Park will open at 5:00 PM with racing
set to begin at 7:00 PM. For more information including admission prices and

located at the corner of 14th Ave. and US 56 in Dodge
City.
Gates at 81 Speedway will open at 5:00 PM with racing set for 7:00 PM.
All general admission tickets are $9. The track is located north of Wichita on
I-135 to exit 16, then .7 miles west on 77th street. For more race or ticket
