Stopped in at The Rib Shack on the way to the races last night and it is absolutely great with really reasonable prices. They are just getting started in the building that Subway was in, between Mr. C's and the Hall of Fame. They are operating out of their trailer/smoker while they fix the building up but it is a top notch place to plan on visiting when you visit Knoxville for the Nationals. I have no connection to them and am not trying to run an ad, just very pleased with my experience and recommending it to our visitors next month.

My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

Godfather's is still here. Subway moved down South by Dairy Queen, another BBQ place opened where the Main St. Cafe used to be but they have been closed for a few weeks and are opening again in August, Sonic is closed and is now Carriker's Auto, and a Beer Brewery is now open a few places East of where the Main St. Cafe used to be. I think that is just about everything.

My two most "favorite places" gone. Main Street Cafe and Sonic. No reason to go to Knoxville ever again! Wink

Still disappointed that DQ doesn't bring their trailer to the O'Reilly's Parking lot like they did a few years ago. Really could use my peanut buster parfait fix after the races.

Is this heaven?
No, it's Iowa....Knoxville, Iowa.

The Main Street Cafe was THE best place in Knoxville.... This year I am bringing my smoker, "Camp Swindell" will have some pretty good chow for 2010!

Tsaos(spelling?) has a new location on the downtown square. They were closed last year but reopened in the new location in Feb. Great food with a wide variety and good service.

The Peace Tree Brewery is a definate must do while your in Knoxville. They have about 7-8 different beers, all very good, IPA is best IMO. They are also kid friendly and make their own very good rootbeer. It's on Main street next door to the old Main Strret Cafe. Very nice place.
