Summer SPRINTacular at Cowtown 8/7 – Drivers: Register by 8/6

Kennedale TX (7/24/10) by DarinShort.com. The on track action at Cowtown Speedway is going to really heat up on August 7th for the running of the
http://www.ShopTheBOSS.com Summer SPRINTacular for Cowtown Sprint Cars. (ASCS-rules, 360CI Sprint Cars.)

$1500 will be on the line for the winner of the event, and we strongly request that drivers pre-register at the track website on or before August 6th so we can keep fans abreast of who will be racing and how many cars will be on hand. If this format works for both sprint drivers and fans, you can expect to see more Cowtown Sprint events structured in this fashion for the 2011 racing season.

This race is brought to you in part by ShopTheBOSS.com that offers “50% Off Floors and More” and please click their link to find a great flooring solutions for your home or office.

The format is simple and here’s how it will work:

- Cowtown Sprint drivers need to go to http://www.cowtownspeedway.com/SS.html and complete their registration form and payment. Pre-entry by August 6th ($25) will reserve their team a concrete slab in the pit area and will reward the driver (only) free pit entry into that night’s event.

- Cowtown sprint drivers that do not pre-enter but show up to race on race night can do so, but must pay the $25 entry fee and purchase their pit pass (which is $30).

- Complete purse breakdown for the event is listed at the above link.

Both race fans and sprint teams have requested more sprint racing on the Cowtown Speedway schedule. Again, if this format is well supported by teams and fans, you can expect this format to continue in 2011. This will give teams a decent purse to run for and will notify race fans in advance of which drivers will be on hand at the event, so they will be insured a solid field of drivers.

In addition to a full racing program of Cowtown-ASCS rules Sprint Cars, LSDCC.com Dwarf Cars, Performance Transmissions raceTX.com Limited Modifieds, Cowtown Bombers and Winged 600’s will round out the racing action. Each of those classes will be racing for additional purse money.

Fast Facts for the ShopTheBOSS.com Summer Sprintacular at Cowtown Speedway, on Saturday August 7th:

-Spectator Grandstands open at 5:30pm; adult tickets (ages 12 and over) are just $15, with youth (ages 6-11) $5 and kids (ages 3-5) $2. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the track website at no additional cost. A limited supply of reserved-seat tickets is available for $18 adults and $9 for ages 11 and under.

-Pit gates also open at 5:30pm; pit entrance is $30 for all ages.

-Hot laps are at 7pm and the first race takes the green flag at 7:30pm.

K-ville note:

FYI, before we proceeded with developing this event, we wanted to look at the Knoxville registrations for the 360 Nationals, and as of last Friday, there were 2 DFW area cars entered that might be at Cowtown; so we proceeded with our event, as previously scheduled.

ShopTheBOSS.com Summer SPRINTacular notes:

Several drivers have contacted me and indicated they will be entering by the 8/6 deadline. I'll update this post with those names when they are confirmed.

Over the weekend, two more entries have arrived:

33 - Mark Huddleston, Genoa AR

20 - Chad Wilson, North Richland Hills TX

** Have a safe and productive week everyone! **

Actually, we're just giving DFW fans and teams what they want, which is a place to watch a sprint race or go to race.

Over 95% of the DFW area teams and fans aren't going to either of those races...and when you add Houston to it, that percentage gets higher yet. There are only 2 drivers entered at Knoxville that might normally be at Cowtown on that night.

This race has been on the Cowtown schedule since last December, and there is not one DFW area driver that was at the Hutchinson race to begin with...and that track is 400 miles away and a raindate too.

We're very much in tune with doing the right thing when it comes to scheduling sprint races. We cancelled one earlier this year when another area track scheduled a race on top of ours. But this race will have no effect whatsoever on the other two events at all.

ShopTheBOSS.com to Assist With Rilat Recovery Through Cowtown SPRINTacular

Kennedale TX (7/29/10) by
DarinShort.com. ShopTheBOSS.com is the primary sponsor on the Sprint Bandit car of Travis Rilat (car number “50 off”). In light of Travis’ recent injury, ShopTheBOSS.com would like to give race fans a way to help.

At the August 7th Cowtown Speedway Summer SPRINTacular, adult ticket prices are $15. During the two weeks following the event (through August 21), for each adult fan that turns in their Cowtown ticket stub from the August 7th event at ShopTheBOSS.com’s Irving Texas location, ShopTheBOSS.com will donate $15 to Travis’ recovery effort.

Those fans will also get to sign a ‘Get Well Travis’ guestbook that will be sent to the family during his hospital stay. There is no store purchase necessary and there is no limit to the number of $15 donations ShopTheBOSS.com will make.

The store is open normal business hours M-F and Saturday mornings. Shop The BOSS is located at 3844 Valley View Lane in Irving TX 75062 and for exact directions, click
http://www.ShopTheBOSS.com and then select the ‘contact’ link.

Davis of ShopTheBOSS.com states: “This has been an incredibly difficult time for the Rilat family and everyone that knows them. We’re here in Texas wanting to do something to help them while they are at the hospital in Seattle. I think race fans want to help too, and this is an easy way for them to directly help – and get to see a sprint car race honoring Travis as well.”

The feature event at the Summer SPRINTacular is 29 laps, which is the long-time car number on Travis’ F&J Construction, Murray and Son’s, Shark Racing Engines, XXX Raceco, Ten Hagen, Hoosier Tire, Smiley’s Race Products sponsored Lucas Oil ASCS Dirt Sprint series car.

Complete event information is available at
http://www.CowtownSpeedway.com or to make a direct donation, click http://www.stevekingfoundation.org/helpingfamilies_rilat.html and you can help with Travis’ recovery effort through the Steve King Foundation.

23 sprint teams from as far away as Arkansas, San Angelo, Houston and Tulsa are set to battle it out in tonights ShopTheBOSS.com Summer SPRINTacular at Cowtown Speedway.

Those teams had taken advantage of a pre-race discount offered, which expired last night. Teams that did not pre-enter can still race at the advertised purse, they just have to pay a $25 entry fee at the pit gate upon arrival. An estimated three to six additional teams are expected to enter, based on phone calls we've received.

Right now the weather is looking decent for August, with 95 degree temperatures forecast at the 7pm hot laps starting time, a nice breeze out of the south (to your back in the stands) and a 30% chance of isolated t-storms early in the evening. The track did receive some much needed precip last night, which will help to keep the dust down in the pit area tonight.

And then it's forecast to cool into the 80's when the track lights come on in time for tonight's 29-lap, 24-car feature event.

A reminder that all Cowtown point's classes will be racing for additional purse money (LTD MODS, Bombers, 600's). The LSDCC.com Dwarfs will also be in competition. Pit passes are $30 for all ages. Kids (ages 3-5) are $2, Youth (ages 6-11) are $5 and Adult ticket prices are just $15. A limited amount of reserved-seat tickets are available at the track website. All tickets can be purchased up until 4pm, just click www.CowtownSpeedway.com and there you will see a tickets link that will take you to a 1-step purchase process.

Upon your arrival, please take a few moments to pass along your well wishes to Greg Rilat, father of injured sprint driver Travis; as he will be located behind the grandstand area with Travis' car. He could really use the support of his 'racing family' right now and your well wishes will be just the medicine the family needs to help get them through this difficult time.

Have a great weekend and if your plans include coming to Cowtown Speedway tonight, you're sure to see a night full of great racing action and a full field of the high powered Cowtown (ASCS legal) Sprint Cars at the ShopTheBOSS.com Summer SPRINTacular!

-----------------------------

2008 ASCS Gulf South champion, Brandon Berryman of Missouri City TX has also joined the field of sprint teams competing tonight at the ShopTheBOSS.com Summer SPRINTacular at Cowtown Speedway.

Please click www.CowtownSpeedway.com for online ticket sales to tonight's event. There is no additional charge to purchase your tickets online.
