I saw Brad Loyet's name attached to the #77 at Lake Ozark Speedway this past Saturday. I was wondering if this was the Hockett #77?

I know the Loyets and the Hocketts are pretty tight. I knew Brad had some seat time in a traditional sprinter but I was unaware of any time with the wing. He had a great run. I was hoping that he would take his talents to the winged cars.

Yes, Brad was in Jesse's 77...Check out Brad's new Jesse Hockett "In Memory" Firesuit.

Here's a couple of shots I took of Brad last weekend at Lake Ozark Speedway. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it was his first time in a wanged car, he looked pretty damn good! See more photos from the event here http://www.openwheel.org/Feature.html

Probably his first time in a wanged "Big Car"... but he ran 600cc winged micros for a few years before going on to focus midgets then full midgets. Was pretty fast at St Francis County in Farmington back in the day.

Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

Brad did a great job in the 77 at LOS, took 3rd and since he has not had much seat time in a car like that, it made his performance even more memorable...He was very impressive and Jesse would have been very proud of him as were Jack and Conny. The entire Loyet family is just absolutely amazing. Jack and Conny picked the perfect family and driver to honor and represent JHR and the 77 this week-end. I am just sorry that Jesse Hockett's Double XX Speedway was rained out Sunday and there was not a replay of Saturday Night's LOS race. To see Brad race the 77 at Jesse's home track would have been so cool...bittersweet for sure.

When Brad debuted his new firesuit that he had made in honor and memory of Jesse, it was so moving. The Loyet's are the real deal. That firesuit will be auctioned at the Chilli Bowl and as usual, all monies received will go to the Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin scholarship fund at Warsaw High School that Jesse had established in Daniel's memory. This fund was very dear to Jesse.

The Loyet's are true and loyal friends to the Hockett's and visa versa. Please include them in your thoughts and prayers along with Tom and Asta of VKCC Motorsports, Tim Rowden of RMS Racing Engines and Grover C. Hall of Grover C. Hall Racing. These people along with others were very instrumental in helping Jesse get the National and International recognition that he earned and deserved to showcase his God given talent. In testament to Jesse's character, all stayed with him from the beginning to the end and were not only sponsors but treasured "family" to each other as well. They all always believed in and were loyal to one another which is very rare in this world as we know.

TBirdvkcc and all of the rest of you are so right...Jesse"The Rocket" Hockett belongs in the Sprint Car Hall of Fame. He accomplished so much and impacted so many in such a short amount of time. Had fate not stepped in, there would have been no limit to what Jesse would have done in the future. I hope that the Sprint Car Hall of Fame Committe sees this and inducts him in...I have a feeling that they will, the racing community has been amazing since this terrible tragedy.
