Wayne and I would like to know the name and contact info if possible of the EMT that rode with him in the ambulance so we can thank him personally. The ambulance Wayne rode in didn't have any pain medicine and they rode 24 miles with this man firmly holding his leg in place. Thank you whoever you are!!

bump....Please if anyone knows who this man was, we'd really like to reach out to him with great appreciation. This man was instrumental in saving Wayne's foot. It would really mean alot to us both if we could thank him personally.
Thanks!

Get the ambulance name and number from the hospital - they should have it as part of their admission records on Wayne....

I think if you were to get ahold of the race track they could find out for you because if I remember right it was the track safety crew that transported him as the fire department was transporting the midget driver that was injured right before Wayne's wreck.

The local fire dept was the one that transported. Not sure which ambulance, as we had three onsite at one particular time. Two were used to transport midget drivers from two seperate accidents and one was used to transport Wayne.
Transporting from three accidents in a matter of about 30 min would be hard on any rural fire dept.

Sounds like the safety crew and local fire/rescue crews had their hands full at the track that night. Glad we have skilled and dedicated people who for the most part donate their time to supporting racing. Also good to have tracks that keep a well staffed and trained safety crew to keep bad situations from getting worse. Get well soon Wayne.
