The car is owned by Bobby Sparks from Olive Branch,MS....this is one of his first cars he ever built.... He is pretty sure that it is Rick Ungar in the car.....

Nope, I also have a shot of Rick Ungar in the 80 that same weekend. And the helmet is not the same.
Daniels was in the 17, Hood was in the 75

For cryin out loud eagle eye, Bobby Sparks has had cars on the track back in the mid/ late 70's anyways.....can't be one of his first built....

yes i know he has been running since 1971 when he started with Sammy....but this car was the first Sparks Chassis he ever built in his shop....Terry Gray was the first to get in this car before Rodney here.....he ran J&J a bunch and also Tognatti (sp?)Chassis as well back then but went back to building Sparks Chassis in 1996

I drove that car for Bobby a few times as I remember the plastic wing but that's not me in that picture. You are one of the few who spell Ungar correctly Willie.

The plastic wings were neat and I believe today's rules don't allow anything like that.
The brave ran without nerf bars, in the 90's Lee Brewer didn't run nerf bars until all the organizations required them.
