I think if you know how to write the html tags and the pics are hosted on a server you can post them on here.

Nope.. that's a pic that I took a Lernerville a few year back.
No HTML involved... just clicked on the image with the little red dot in it in the reply window, which took me to a window that allowed me to browse pics on my computer. Clicked on the pic, and presto, it appeared.....

You just hit the image button and find the pic on your hard drive and hit the insert button. Something like that, I found it by just messing around!

Paintboss, don't let these guys yank your chain.
ALL of them have paid a "fee" to the "Big Hoser": just for the privilege of posting pics on here. I wanted to but couldn't afford the "Big Hoser Fee!"

It's actually the icon on the top row of the reply box, fourth from the right that looks like a little mountain with a little sun over it. Click it and browse to the image on your puter and it will upload to your own little Hosehead Forums personal image "library" - then insert it into your post.
I sometimes use it for special smileys like this one ----
But to answer the OP's question ... anyone that is computer savvy enough can post a pic from their computer - no special status is needed.

No, you don't need to be a Power User, just know how to use your power......

How do you be a Power User ?

the only thing that i have found that power users can do now that most others can't is to upload video directly to the threads like everyone can do with pics without having to embed them. at one time i believe power users were those who paid a membership fee and were able to do more things that regular users couldn't. also the HH site was banner and advertiser free for them. i believe power users option as far as paying a fee has been done away with for some time. the only members you see identified as power users are those that are left over from the good old days! for the most part, everyone is now a power user, minus the video posting abilities. i believe Alan at one time said if you contacted him and had a special request he may grant power user status to you but for the most part it is obsolete.
to indy and beyond!!

If you are not a Power User, and you find a photo on here that you would like to have and right click on it you get a message that states, "Right click disabled on images for non Power Users!".

What about pictures that are already hosted on a website and already have a url. How can you display them on here?
