Mark Burch Motorsports – Consistency is Key

NEWTON (June 29, 2010) – Last weekend was a good weekend for the Mark Burch Motorsports crew. They made it a two day weekend keeping things consistent as always. "It is very gratifying to know that we are constantly improving while at the same time remaining consistent." Owner Mark Burch had to say.

Friday night the #1M set out to lap the World Outlaw Series at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska but as the saying goes, they truly are the "greatest show on dirt". Overall, the Mark Burch Motorsports Chad Humston Racing team got to experiment a little before heading back to Knoxville Raceway. "I want to send out a really big thank you to Brian Brown for loaning us a flat Vortex top wing. It was fun to be able to try out an 'open' right rear tire and compare some things with the different wing." Chad said of the Friday night experiments.

Saturday took the team back to Knoxville Raceway, in Knoxville, Iowa. Chad Humston took the Engler Machine and Tool #1M out for the fifth quickest qualifying session, starting off the night right. The heat race proved to be a little bit of a challenge however. The start was awful for the inside row in which Chad was placed. Everyone got bottled up and unfortunately someone smashed the #1M's rear bumper. Although it was a rough start for Chad, he pulled through nicely running down a few cars and finishing in fourth place, with second and third in his sites.

Chad started second row outside in the 360 A-Main and after the fourth restart they finally got to do some racing. Chad led a few laps but could tell that they were off a little on the set up for the race. Meanwhile, Dustin Selvage was close by, on rail around the bottom of the track. Humston made some ground weaving his way through traffic, but Dustin was too strong for the #1M. Chad ended the night with a well deserved second place for the team. "Congratulations to the #7 of Dustin Selvage. That was a job well done!" Chad had to say of the main.

You can check out Chad three nights in a row this weekend! The Mark Burch Motorsports Chad Humston Racing team will start their holiday weekend off on Thursday at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska and then make their way to I-80 Speedway, Nebraska Raceway Park in Greenwood, Nebraska. They will finish the weekend back at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa on Saturday. "We are really looking forward to three nights of racing in a row to hone our skills against the best in the Midwest." Chad had to say of the upcoming weekend. "We just have to continue putting together a good package so that Chad can do his job night in and night out." Owner Mark Burch had to say looking forward to the rest of the season.

Engler Machine and Tool, Inc.

Engler Machine was started in 1980 by Tim Engler. His main line of business at that time was plastic injection molds. Over the years he has diversified very widely leaning more towards "high performance products". He now builds fuel injection systems, custom made pulling chassis, gears, shafts, specialty CNC products, racing engines and some custom machining.

Tim has been involved in tractor pulling and holds 13 national titles in that sport, he no longer pulls himself but, has been influential to the success of many other pullers through his advice and building capabilities. He races winged sprint cars when time allows this is something he truly likes and wishes he had more time to do.

Currently, Tim and his staff have been developing a new mini-sprint fuel injection system. There are a handful of these units currently being dyno and track tested with great results. Look for full production of these units this summer. Please call 812-386-6254 for more information. (www.englermachine.com)

Vortex Racing Products

VortexRacing Productsis the industry leader in Sprint Car Wing design. From humble beginnings in 1995 where we began producing wings for our own use we quickly became engaged in producing wings for other race teams. Inspired by a life-long background in racecar design and manufacturing from our Dad, we (Paul and Lynton) continued to evolve into a company known for producing a product a little different from the rest. This ability to manufacture a Wing that is unique in design is what has been our success. With the use of our own race teams in Australia and America, we continually push the boundaries of design with an extensive testing program of our products each and every year. It is with our understanding of chassis design and manufacturing that we are able to communicate with our clients and tailor a wing package that best suits their driver, team and make of chassis. We call this," The Vortex Advantage". (http://www.vortexracingproducts.com.au/)
