This is great news as 410 racing needs some help in NorCal.
Hope to see them raise the purse to $4k or $5k to win and the backhalf as well. To partially cover this, raise tickets prices. GSC tickets at most tracks are under $20. I bet people would pay a few dollars more ($20 range) since they are seeing the best sprint car drivers on the west coast. The west coast is very expensive to live but $16 to $18 for a 410 touring series show is dirt cheap. In the midwest and PA, the big 410 shows are $20 or more for tickets.
Keep the Kings Royal & Knoxville dates open ... nice to see the West Coast drivers run the big shows in the midwest.
I would move away from racing every weekend and maybe start the season in March and end in October ... give the mid to low budget drivers/teams a few weekends off to regroup.
The big thing is getting a series title sponsor. This could provide year end points money and potential "rookie of the year" money will all helps keep these drivers on the road, racing 100% of the shows.
I would try to get Dennis Roth & Jason Meyers teams involved with the GSC. It would be nice if they ran a team for the entire season ..... sort of like Ronnie Day did several years ago (J. Meyers team).
The 2010 schedule is perfect. It covers every major track in NorCal and Pac NW. The Western Speedweek was a great addition this year with 30+ cars each night.
Try to run the same rules at Skagit, Chico and the WoO. This saves everyone money.
Tires ...... I am not going near this one!
Good luck to the Simpon family as there is a lot of potential in the West Coast.
