Schneiderman Recovers for a Top Ten

(West Burlington, IA – 6/19/2010) Josh Schneiderman and his Deuce Motorsports #49 were back in action at the Knoxville Raceway after having a week off due to a rain out. "We took advantage of last week's rainout to take Mom out to supper for her birthday, said Josh, "The family and team got together to celebrate her birthday and to take some time to relax." After last weekend Manny Rockhold and the folks at Automotive Machine had the 410 tuned back up and ready to go. Bart and Jarrod worked hard to drop it in and get it ready for Night #6 of the Chase to the Cup.

On a very hot and muggy Saturday afternoon the team unloaded the i Wireless, Engler Injection, Automotive Machine #49 to a slick and dusty track surface. Josh headed out for qualifying 19th out of the 21 cars and put down a lap good enough for 6th quick. "Dad and the crew were very attentive and saw the track was terrible early and had the car setup perfectly for the conditions," commented the driver of the #49.

Josh and his Morning Sun Farm Implement, Liberty Transport, AMP Energy #49 would line up in the 5th position in the third heat race. The ButlerBuilt, Pro Shocks machine got a horrible jump on the start and would fall to 6th. After a couple of nice slide jobs Josh would finish in the 4th position. Josh would lend his thoughts on the heat race run, "We were extremely fast in the heat race. Manny and Dad found a couple things with the motor and really improved on how it runs. The crew did a fantastic job with the car and I was really excited for the upcoming feature."

With an invert of 8 cars for the feature, the Liberty Transport, Ideal Ready Mix, Hephner Racing Products #49 started in the 3rd spot. After a red on the first start, Josh looked like he was shot from a cannon on the second start settling into the 3rd spot. On the second lap he would attempt a slide job on the 2nd place car, but before completing the slider the #49 car slid sideways and spun out in front of the field collecting a couple of cars. The car came in to the pits on the hook, where the crew changed both rear tires and got Josh back on the track. He would recover for a top ten finish, finishing in 9th. "When I started to slide (Brian) Brown I had the car extremely straight," commented Josh, "But about half way through the car got loose and I just couldn't get a handle on it. I just plain and simple messed up. I want to apologize personally to Dusty (Zomer), Bronson (Maeschen), and Austin (McCarl) because they were involved in my mess. My whole crew worked hard to get us back on the track and I want to thank them for that. We were able to restart and salvage a decent finish."

Deuce Motorsports could not be in operation without its advertisers/sponsors. We want to thank our sponsors for all the support they give and have given us over the years. This week's sponsor spotlight is on Automotive Machine. Owned and operated by Manny and Dawn Rockhold, Automotive Machine has been supplying superb race engines to many racers for a lot of years. "We are extremely fortunate to have Manny and his employees build our 410 engines. Our motor is one of the best running motors in the country and we owe it to their hard work," said Josh. If you need a motor built or freshened or are just looking for advice be sure to give Automotive Machine a call and talk to Manny.

The Deuce Motorsports Team will be back in action at the Knoxville Raceway this Saturday night. The #49 and #88 plan to be on hand for the nights racing action.
