There was never a 3-car sprint team sponsored by TMC; however, Sammy's TMC1, Hillenburg's 2 and McDermott's 3 were good looking cars with a coincidental number sequence and car color.
|
Come on Brad! You don't remember when all 3 showed up to the Winter Nationals at the Bowl in the #1, 2 and 3? All Challengers, all black, all gold leaf numbers? I can't swear to each saying TMC on the hood & wing but I thought they all did at that event.
Coincidence? No. 3 different owners & each with sponsorship from the same direction.

Big Game Motorsports; moving forward in a professional manor.
Effective July 1, 2010 Big Game Motorsports will be making a permanent driver change. Sammy Swindell will drive the Big Game Treestands #1 through the balance of the 2010 season. We feel Sammy can bring a wealth of knowledge and experience as well as continuing to enhance our company representation and professionalism on and off the track. Our customers, including Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's, Gander Mountain, and Dick's Sporting Goods, just to name a few, demand a very positive marketing approach and it's our job to give it to them. Our motorsports division is a very small segment of our business but it is something we have a great deal of passion for. We feel that we've always had the equipment in place to win Outlaw and other big races, but we are now hoping to build on this; moving forward in a positive direction.
The entire staff at Big Game would like to thank Terry McCarl for his past years with us and wish him nothing but the best as he moves forward in his racing career. Terry and I have been great friends and have had a lot of great times and success together through the past 12 years. Terry has a great passion for the sport and is very independent and will do great running his own team again. Sometimes these types of changes work out best for all involved and we think that will be the case here.
A schedule for the Big Game #1 will be out very soon; we are planning on running most of the World of Outlaw schedule, but will be leaving some openings to stray off and run a few additional races throughout the country.
The Big GameĀ® Treestands/Karavan Trailers/Aggressive Hydraulics #7 will stay business as usual. Paul Johnson with Aggressive Hydraulics and Scott Boyd with Karavan Trailers provide a tremendous amount of support to this team and I would like to thank them. The #7 will continue to run the entire World of Outlaw schedule and we look forward to a successful finish to 2010.

TMC Trucking of Des Moines, IA never sponsored Andy Hillenburg & Chris McDermott.
Sammy's #1 was BLACK and was GOLD PRISMATIC and was TMC
Hillenburg's #2 was BLACK and was GOLD LEAF but was not TMC
McDermott's #3 was BLACK don't recall GOLD LEAF but was not TMC
Of that, I am certain...

I was so happy to see GLAD BRAD... had to leave a comment for the big man from ARK.
Interesting what you highlighted. Sometimes a car owner could say something without saying something, huh?
It's ok... I think when that lottery ticket hits I now have another driver on my team. Wayne Johnson and Terry McCarl might win some races, huh? Can't keep typing.. .gotta run to the convenience store for a ticket...
|
I feel the love. Did you see the good runs posted by G-DUB during Ohio Speedweeks? Was happy to see him running strong in a 410 Sprinter...

i sure hope the rumors are true and TMAC is out of the 24. I only pray that his kid gets to keep his ride. He has improved greatly and doesnt have that cocky jerk personality. Id rather watch him race then his dad any day. Terry just hasnt been fast the last times i saw him at knoxville. Sammy has been bad fast everywhere. Wish he would run at knoxville more often.

In the last ten years dollansky has thirty wins. He failed to finish in the top twenty only two times. Five top five in point. Eight top ten in point. He best year was 2008 second in point with six wins. Not bad! I would love to have a career like that. There are always going to be driver who are middle of the pack type drivers. you have kinser, meyers, saldana and schatz who have the backing. Lasoski, dollansky that can run up front just not as much as some other. Sam hafertepe remines me alittle of dollansky. Just my two cents

Did you have a stop watch or how were you able to tell Terry didn't look good in practice? Without any other cars out there; one would think the driver would be the only one to know if he is laying down good laps or not??

Interesting press release from the owner of Big Game. As a spokesman for that company he needs to first check his spelling and use of grammar. That release is less than professional in presentation. If the company is seeking a more corporate presence in the world of automobile racing, selecting Mr. Swindell over Mr. McCarl for that purpose is absurd. Mr. Swindell is without a doubt one of the finest to ever strap into any kind of a race car. His racing accomplishement resume is absolutely awesome. But having Mr. Swindell as a spokesperson, a front person, a drum beater for a product line or service is not in the field of his expertise. Mr. Swindell is NOT a people person from previous experiences in the past 30 some odd years. Mr. McCarl is also a very, very good sprint car driver and likewise his career behind the wheel can not be questioned. Mr. McCarl, however, IS a people person and has the experience of meeting with people, motivating people, selling people and entertaing people. Mr. McCarl is, among other things, a SHOWMAN. What ilk would a business owner, who wanted a presence for his product / service, want to showcase his wares? Mr. Swindell and Mr. McCarl will continue to win races but when the owner of Big Game selected a RACER over a SHOWMAN, it is like asking Al Capone to assist you with your income taxes.

Sammy must have done something right to get your respect.
Calling him Mr. Swindell shows respect.

Ok dakob, It looks like you need to learn your spelling and use of grammar! Here goes per you; "What ilk would a business owner" What the hell is this about? SPELLING??? All you did was post your opinion, of which has no merit! So tell us why you make this statement? "That release is less than professional in presentation." So what the hell is a proper release of one's job? Terry and Big Game lasted many years togather, more than most owner-driver relationships. And also will you tell us how do you know that Sammy is not, per you; " But having Mr. Swindell as a spokesperson, a front person, a drum beater for a product line or service is not in the field of his expertise"! Does Terry hunt or use a tree stand? I doubt it! Again you state; "Mr. Swindell and Mr. McCarl will continue to win races but when the owner of Big Game selected a RACER over a SHOWMAN, it is like asking Al Capone to assist you with your income taxes." WTF does this mean??? So since Swindell is a racer he is going to screw Big Game and McCarl is going to be a front man or showman for the press? Get a clue!

Dollansky has always had the very best at his finger tips for the last 10 years at least. He's wanted for nothing for as long as I can remember. For example a ride with KKR, where is seems McMahon, Saldana and others can seem to get the job done. He's got exactly what he wants again now, with the cars he wants, a bank of motors he wants at his disposal. I can't stand the excuses people make for him.......it's a joke......he should get up in the seat and drive the wheels off it and if he does then I'll be the first to stand and clap.... There is no excuse for him ........I'd take McCarl every single day over him.
