I was thinking about coming up from So Cal and see the CRA guys run at Ocean Speedway and Petaluma.
However I could not find a reasonable priced hotel for Ocean Speedway (Watsonville). Does anyone have any suggestions?
Do you think any Nor Cal cars will shed their wings and run. Any guess on car counts?
Thanks for any help.

where did you look. i would think watsonville would have some decent priced places. try gilroy or better yet morgan hill. they are not far from wville. santa cruz might be kind of high but i would think that some little place in aptos or capitola might have a good price. what do consider a good price?
to indy and beyond!!

I used sidestep (expdia, kayak, etc) and the hotels near Watsonville were from $270-$500.
Found some in Gilroy for $100 and up.
($270 for a Comfort Inn or Ramada is too steep for me). Maybe Ventura is a better option with more cars for VRA total cost $40 for gas, tickets and parking instead of spending $1000 for a roadtrip with a small car turnout. As I understand, there is Golden State Challenge in Oregon and I would guess the good cars with be there or preparing for this week.
But I sure would like to see Petaluma again and I hear Ocean Speedway is racy too.

We live in Scotts Valley and the Best Western in Scotts Valley does have rooms, $159 for a Friday night. (831)438-6666. The hotel is only half an hour from Ocean Speedway and you would be less than 2 hours from Petaluma. We stay at the Best Western in Petaluma when we race there however I believe they are booked for Saturday night. You might try and say you are there for the races and they might have rooms blocked out, can't hurt to try. They would be able to give you ideas of other hotels/motels in the area. Along 101 there are plenty to choose from I just don't know the names to give you.
Bring warm clothes, I know it's June but both Ocean and Petaluma can get very cold once the sun goes down even though its summer. Nothing like Perris weather! Have fun.

We stayed at probably one of the nicest Motel 6's in Marina south of Watsonville Easter weekend when we were going to go to the races at Ocean when they got rained out and I know there is a decent one in Petaluma not too far from the track. I know it's Motel vs Hotel but if you aren't looking for more than a place to fall down when you can't stand up any more and shower while saving some $$ at the same time this would be my recommendation.

With the Civil War series racing in Quincy and the GSC series at Skagit I wouldn't expect to see many locals shedding wings for this race. September's Louie Vermeil classic at Calistoga should be a different story though.

Thanks for all the information. Much Apreciated
I was just wondering, maybe the hotels are full and (and Full Retail Price) with Pebble Peach going on. Haven't decided if I'm going up yet, but the car count does not look promising. I can not imagine CRA bringing more then 15 cars if that. A few top runners just race at Perris this year for budget reasons.

There was a Red Roof Inn out on highway 1 in Watsonville, or perhaps its Pajaro.

I would think that motels in the north bay (Petaluma, Novato, Vallejo, etc.) will be hard to find. No one has mentioned it, but NASCAR is at Sears Point this weekend and I suspect that rooms are at a premium if available at all.
Are we having fun yet?
