Hard Luck Challenges the Deuce Motorsports team...

(West Burlington, IA - 6/10/2010) The Memorial Day weekend and the 3 day World of Outlaw show challenged Josh Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports #49 team. On Saturday May 29th the team loaded up and headed to Knoxville for Night #5 of the Championship Cup. Josh would draw an extremely high pill for qualifying and would be the last car to take time. The i wireless, Automotive Machine, J&J Auto Racing sprinter would qualify in the 8th position. "We pulled a tough number for qualifying and the track went away really fast," commented Josh. "The car was almost perfect though and I was able to roll the track where we needed to get down a solid lap."

Josh and his Liberty Transport, AMP Energy, Pro Shocks #49 pushed off in the 4th spot in the second heat. After a hard fought eight laps the car would roll across the finish line in the 4th spot. The driver of the ButlerBuilt, Engler, Bell racecar would have this to say, "In the heat races the track was kind of one lane which made it real tough for passing. The car was working pretty well and we were working on 2nd at one time, but had a caution and fell back to fourth. All that matters is we made the transfer for the A-Main.

The Morning Sun Farm Implement, R2 Enterprises, Hephner Racing Products machine would start the race in the 2nd spot. From the drop of the green flag Josh was extremely fast, settling into the 3rd position. Josh would mock the leaders as lap traffic approached and would make a move on 2nd. After slicing and dicing for the 2nd spot a yellow would slow the pace. Once the race resumed it was apparent the #49 had burnt up the rubber on the rear tires as Josh and the Ideal Ready Mix, Weld Racing sprinter would fade to the 8th position. "It was a bitter sweet end to the night. These tires are just not holding up like the Hoosiers were last year. We are happy because it's another solid top 10 finish, but when you are that fast and running at the front it is kind of a let-down," commented the 22 year old UNI Student. "The crew is giving me awesome racecars and eighth place is still a fine finish, so we are really happy about that fact."

Outlaw Weekend

The following Thursday, June 3rd, Josh and the #49 team were back in action at Knoxville to take on the World of Outlaws. Josh would go out mid pack and lay down a solid lap putting him 22nd quick of 45 cars. "The track has been going away quick in time trials and it was no different for this week, said Josh. "We keep working on our setups to make the car better for these tracks and we are getting the car much nicer for the track conditions."

In the heat race Josh would start in the sixth spot among some of the best sprint car racers in the business. Josh drove his tail off for eight laps and worked his way into the 5th spot for the final transfer to the A-Main. "The car was working beautifully in the heat race and we had great starts and restarts. With racers like Saldana, Tatnell, Walker, and Herrera, to name a few, in our heat race I was really happy to make the transfer," commented the driver of the #49.

The #49 machine would roll off in the 18th position for the A-Main, one of only 3 weekly 410 cars to make the show. At one time Josh had worked his way to the 16th spot before falling to the 21st position. "The car was extremely fast all race, but towards the end I was doing a little searching and lost some valuable spots. I was upset at myself because we were in the transfer spot for the 20 car inverted feature on Friday and then fell out," commented Josh.

On Friday morning, June 4th, the team discovered a motor issue while performing routine maintenance. A rivet from the air cleaner broke off and lodged itself into #8 piston. Disappointed, Josh stated, "It was really a sad deal because now the motor must come to be fixed and it doesn't look like we'll have it back for the weekend. Manny and his suppliers are doing everything they can to make it happen and we appreciate his hard work and dedication to our team."

Since the #49 car was slated to start on the pole of the B-Main for Friday, brother Jarrod offered his #88 mount to Josh and the team. Yes, Jarrod's car is a 360, that is true. Josh would compete against the Outlaws with Jarrod's Bobby Jacks powered J&J, working hard to muster a 6th place finish. "Many people didn't believe us that it was a 360 and some thought we were crazy for trying it, but we aren't quitters, no matter what. That is this team's motto and something we pride ourselves on," said Josh. "We gave it everything we had, but were just a little out motored in the end, which was to be expected. Jarrod has a solid motor and a great racecar and I'm excited for him to get some more laps under his belt. Special thanks to the crew for working so hard to get everything ready and special thanks to Jarrod for his generous offer."

Mother Nature was the only winner on Saturday the 5th, as the night's races were a complete wash out.

Of special note, Josh and the #49 team were featured in the Des Moines Register on Wednesday, June 9, so be sure to check it out on the web!

Speaking of Wednesday, June 9th, Jarrod and the #88 traveled to Lee County Speedway to participate in the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders Budweiser Shoot Out. Jarrod would finish 6th in the 3rd heat, setting himself up to run the B Main. Starting 7th in the B, Jarrod started strong, and grew stronger with each passing lap, coming forward to finish 3rd and transferring to the A. Starting 17th in the feature, he maneuvered his way through traffic and took his Blackbird Motorsports, I wireless, Graystone Construction, J&J Steel, Zaiser's Landscaping sprinter to a well earned 11th place finish.
