It looks like we might have a new super star. Sides is ahead of Donnie now and was passing everyone at Knoxville. Sort of reminds me of how the dough boy wasn't much for several years but just keeps plugging away.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Sides and his whole team (sponsors) are really nice people. They work hard and do the best they can with what they have. They are by no means a "small budget" team, just smaller than the teams they compete against night in and night out.
I sat with his sponsors a couple years ago at WoO race in the South and they told me just how hard Jason works to keep this team going and to try and be successful. He has very little help and although he has top notch equipment, he doesn't have the quantity of equipment that most of the other teams do. The sponsors just LOVE him because of his work ethic and I think a lot of fans are starting to really like Jason as well. He is hard not to like! He works hard, hardly ever complains and runs up front most of the time.
I wish this team nothing but the best and I would love to see Jason land a big time six or seven digit sponsor that would allow him to have a full-time crew and all the equipment he would ever need at his disposal. If that happens, I truly believe Jason could contend for a WoO title. Who knows?

Jason seems to be pretty good on his equipment and stays out of trouble. He also has one of the more unique nicknames in sprint car racing. Is there a story behind it?
I'd be completely satisfied to see him come to Williams Grove and pick up a win sometime in the near future.

Jason comes from good stock, and is very down-to-earth. He busts his hiney at every opportunity.
I'm not surprised to see him do so well; it's always been there, it just never gelled quite like it has lately.
G'luck Jason!!!!!!!!!!!
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

I have liked Sides since the first time i saw him at I-55 and he was running the piss out of Kinser while everyone was moving over. Of course back then Kinser was still god and he finally got Sides but not without a fight. I too hope that after 2 great years on the road he gets a BIG sponsor not a new team and kicks even more ass.

Jason's nickname stems from an evening at the hotel bar in Fargo. I was sitting beside him playing blackjack (yes, they have blackjack in the bars in ND), and Jason was playing rather. . .ummm. . ."loose". So loose that he doubled down on 16 on three different occasions. And hit a 5 all three times!!!

Jason came from a really good up bringing as his parents were first class back when I met them in either 1998 or 1999. Jason has come along way as a driver since that time as well.

He's definitely picked up his game the last couple of years. Real good at Knoxville.
