Mark Burch Motorsports – Parts and Puzzles

NEWTON (June 7, 2010) – Last weekend's events came and went like the stormy skies that covered the Midwest region, leaving Mark Burch Motorsports looking forward to some sunshine.

Friday night was a successful, full night of racing for the Mark Burch Motorsports Engler Machine and Tool #1M powered by Danny Lasoski at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa for the Masters Classic. Lasoski qualified second fastest behind a Knoxville Raceway quick time record set by Sammy Swindell. Danny started his heat second row outside (4th) and ran away with an early lead without looking twice. He started outside of Swindell on the front row (2nd) for the A-Main event and fought the good fight for a second place finish. The #1M ran only a tenth and a half off of the Big Game #1S, which was great news for March Burch Motorsports. "Mark Burch and everyone associated with Mark Burch Motorsports is second to none. Everyone from Mark, Marvin, Chad and his father gave me a great car. We ran flawlessly. Bottom line is we just got beat. We win and lose as a team and I couldn't have asked for a better team." Danny had to say of his opportunity with the Mark Burch Motorsports team. "It was a great measuring stick for our program and we would love to give it a shot next year." Mark Burch of Mark Burch Motorsports said of the night.

Saturday was a chess game vs the rain and it was Mark Burch Motorsports who came out ahead with a last minute decision to make their way to Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kansas. "I was really impressed with Chad, as he was on a brand new track, after a last minute decision and he was the fastest smoothest car in hot laps, three-tenths faster than the next fastest car out there." Mark Burch said of Chad's Saturday night run. Chad started outside pole (2nd) alongside Aaron Berryhill and won his heat in fashion. The WolfWeld chassis, Mark Burch Motorsports #1M started outside pole (2nd) in the night's main event next to the eventual winner, Gary Lee Maier. Just as the race heated up, bad luck would strike again and another puzzling parts failure would call the shots for the night causing one more DNF for the season. "We had a great car in the feature. Gary Lee Maier got off to a good start and I thought it would be a good idea to follow him for a few laps to get my line right for a good set up (to pass). As the race continued I felt our car get faster and faster and I was just about to make my move for the lead, with eight laps to go, when I lost the rear end, along with a possible feature win. It was another tough weekend but at least we didn't get rained out!" Chad had to say of his run at Thunderhill.

No worries though fans, you can catch March Burch Motorsports and Chad Humston Racing back in the saddle this Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.

The mission of Mark Burch Motorsports is to be an innovator in the unrefined business of Sprint Car racing on dirt, while representing our sponsors and manufacturers in a professional and positive manner both on and off the track. Engler Machine and Tool, Inc.

Engler Machine was started in 1980 by Tim Engler. His main line of business at that time was plastic injection molds. Over the years he has diversified very widely leaning more towards "high performance products". He now builds fuel injection systems, custom made pulling chassis, gears, shafts, specialty CNC products, racing engines and some custom machining.

Tim has been involved in tractor pulling and holds 13 national titles in that sport, he no longer pulls himself but, has been influential to the success of many other pullers through his advice and building capabilities. He races winged sprint cars when time allows this is something he truly likes and wishes he had more time to do.

Currently, Tim and his staff have been developing a new mini-sprint fuel injection system. There are a handful of these units currently being dyno and track tested with great results. Look for full production of these units this summer. Please call 812-386-6254 for more information. (www.englermachine.com)

Wireless Amber Alerts

The Campaign: On May 25, 2006, National Missing Children's Day, The Advertising Council launched a national, multi-media public service announcement (PSA) campaign designed to raise awareness of The Wireless Foundation's Wireless AMBER Alerts program and to encourage all wireless subscribers to aid in the search for abducted children. Radio, outdoor, interactive and television PSAs were created.

In May of 2008 program partners; The Ad Council, The Wireless Foundation, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, and the U.S. Department of Justice announced the addition of www.wirelessamberalerts.org En Espanol. This online PSA campaign encouraged Hispanic adults to sign up for Wireless AMBER Alerts by providing a Spanish version of www.wirelessamberalerts.org. During the Ad Council campaign, the Wireless AMBER Alerts program received an estimated $153 millionin donated media support. The work that The Ad Council developed unquestionably helped raise awareness around the issue of abducted children and for that The Wireless Foundation and all of the program's partners are very grateful. The partnership between The Ad Council and The Wireless Foundation ended in May 2009. (https://www.wirelessamberalerts.org/index.jsp)

Vortex Racing Products

Vortex Racing Products is the industry leader in Sprintcar Wing design. From humble beginnings in 1995 where we began producing wings for our own use we quickly became engaged in producing wings for other race teams. Inspired by a life-long background in racecar design and manufacturing from our Dad, we (Paul and Lynton) continued to evolve into a company known for producing a product a little different from the rest. This ability to manufacture a Wing that is unique in design is what has been our success. With the use of our own race teams in Australia and America, we continually push the boundaries of design with an extensive testing program of our products each and every year. It is with our understanding of chassis design and manufacturing that we are able to communicate with our clients and tailor a wing package that best suits their driver, team and make of chassis. We call this," The Vortex Advantage". (http://www.vortexracingproducts.com.au/)
