Hats off to Ron B. for getting sprint car racing back in this area. last week at Kopellah he brought in 23 cars and Arlington had 21 cars. Last night for the Kouba memorial he had 24 cars. If it wasn't for him sprint car racing in this area would not exist. Also great job to Kevin Nickels on his heat race win. Good job Kevin.

Rain-out after heat races. Reschedule TBD, watch the UMSS website or here for an update.

To say the weather has been less than cooperative for the UMSS so far during the 2010 season would probably be an understatement. It has been frustrating for all involved, but there is still plenty of potential racing action left in the 2010 UMSS season. With solid cars counts the past three shows (24,21,23), the series has only been able to complete three full shows while five events have fallen victim to the weather. Hopefully this Friday night at Kopellah the weather will actually cooperate, and we can once again go 360 sprint car racing!

"less than cooperative"???

Mother Nature has been just plain brutal to the UMSS.

We saw more races (5) in 4 days Memorial Day Weekend than the Old Bat has let the UMSS do in 6 WEEKS!

The UMSS's luck has got to change soon ... I hope!

Ron will not post here but he ask me to. He said he alone did't do this he said the u and the s in UMSS also stands for US meaning all those many many people who have worked/ donated time and money to a sport of passion, drama, and action. Ron is a great guy and a absolute sprint car nut.. A very humble man and is embarrassed by praise. Mize is right though Ron's efforts have brought back to the Twin Cities the action of Sprints almost weekly. With out him it would not have happend. Given the 5 rain outs I know Mother nature will give us some great race nights yet. In closing Ron asks all to continue to support, advise and criticise and this will continue to grow. Just think in 2008 we here had just 3 races close to home all in Brainerd, this year we still have 18 left on the schedule!!! despite MOTHER Nature.

I have been lucky enough to work with Ron this year and I can tell you firsthand that he is an incredible human being that will work his butt off making sure the UMSS grows and survives. Most tracks/ series are losing cars this year but the UMSS is growing! 6-7 rookies this year with at least one more waiting to be out there next year! :-) There are a lot of people working hard and giving it what they have to make the UMSS work. Ron deserves so much credit for making this happen. A good leader surrounds himself with good people which is what the UMSS is.

All of the races that I will go to in 2010 will have sprint cars and I wouldn't have it any other way.
